Distressed by his constant secrecy Jane convinces Dr. Blake to reveal his true identity, that of the mighty Thor, outraging Odin. Meanwhile on Mt. Olympus, Zeus decides to send Hercules to Earth to burn off some of his restlessness.
With Thor willing to take up the Olympian gauntlet, he must face the endless hordes of the Netherworld under the command of Pluto, with his only ally in Hercules stripped of his power. If Thor can achieve victory, then he will earn the freedom of the son of Zues, but should he fail then he too shall be trapped in the netherworld for all of eternity.

Whirlwind attacks Hank and Jan and uses one of Hank's own chemicals to shrink the pair down to ant size. When they are placed into an ant hill without any means of communicating with the insects, death looms large over their heads.
The Huntsman lays a trap for Namor with the Sirens of legend. Once under a spell, Namor speeds towards Hercules, who rests upon a small island. The two battle for a short time before pitting their combined might against the Huntsman and monster born of Greek myths.

Hawkeye returns to the Avengers with tales of his survival after the Kree-Skrull War. The members then must find a way to restore the memory of Hercules, who has been put into a state of shock by some unknown menace.
Thor and Hercules make their way into Hades to face Pluto and rescue Krista, the sister of Hildegarde. Though they face the denizens of this dark domain, Pluto is not to be found and their quest must lead them elsewhere.
Pluto has been defeated but Krista's life still hangs in the balance and only Dr. Blake can save her. Meanwhile, Hercules seeks to amuse himself with the New York nightlife but his revelry is soon interrupted by the Destroyer.
In light of the looming threat of Ego the Living Planet, Thor has agreed to a tentative alliance with Galactus. Observing this, Odin finds himself questioning the motivations of his son and must decide on a course of action.
