Johnny Darkness Says:
Doctor Strange #43 (v2) : Doc Strange looks pretty funny on the cover.

Johnny Darkness Says:
Thor #251 (v1) : Wow, that was just a quality comic, from start to finish. Great storytelling, dripping with Asgardian atmosphere. Valhalla was awesome, no cliche ending. I haven't read a lot of Thor, but this might be the best issue I've read yet.

Johnny Darkness Says:
The Incomplete Death[appost]s Head... : It's amusing how much I loved this as a kid, and how mediocre it is now. I do love the character, though.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Incredible Hercules #114 : Hydra blood... I like it.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Squadron Supreme #2 (v1) : I like that Nuke is an unreasonable a hole.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Peter Parker, The Spectacular... : I gave this 3 stars, but it was on the verge of 2. Also, Kurt Busiek wrote a letter in the letters column, and it started out pretty harsh!

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Moon Knight #2 (v1) : It's sad that Marvel totally got away from these dark/amazingly drawn stories so quick. By the 90s, there was nothing like this.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Amazing Spider-Man #237 (v1) : I could tell you that. I love Paste Pot Pete.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Peter Parker, The Spectacular... : I love issues like this.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Iron Man #220 (v1) : Wow, what a way to go. I remember really liking The Ghost when I was a kid. Reading it now, he's not as cool as I remember, but a pretty good villain. I would have given this 4 stars, except for the part where they both refuse to put on the armor seemed oddly slapstick.

Iron Man #220 (v1) :

Johnny Darkness Says:
Peter Parker, The Spectacular... : I like the drawings of the creators on the first page. I would have loved that as a kid, I always wondered what the bullpen looked like. The only pictures I ever saw of creators was the cartoons in the Bullpen Bulletin page.
Also, I thought it was funny how Jim Shooter is portrayed as Dr Doom. Do you think that was a subtle way of calling Shooter a tyrant, or do you think Shooter was in on the joke?

Johnny Darkness Says:
Incredible Hulk #4b (v1) : First appearance of Gladiator Hulk! Even though these first issues haven't been very good, they do set up a lot of good stuff to come (like gladiator Hulk and Planet Hulk), and most of the key characters.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Fantastic Four #280 (v1) : Yeah, John Byrne swooped in and changed everyone's hair in the 80s. Pretty much always for the worse. Mostly female characters.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Peter Parker, The Spectacular... : Cool cover and good interior art. I liked all the references. The Spirit, Obnoxio, ROM, etc

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Peter Parker, The Spectacular... : He has a lot of fans, including myself!

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Incredible Hulk #4a (v1) : So Hulk just flies around now?

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Avengers Spotlight #25b : I liked it. Better than the A story.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Incredible Hulk #3 (v1) : I hate mind control stories. But I do find it interesting that, at this point, Hulk isn't a super hero at all. He's kind of just a monster.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Thor #158 (v1) : That is an awesome cover. But yeah, it doesn't seem like Kirby...

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Iron Man #203 (v1) : Unlike you guys, I actually liked the idea of him shrinking to go inside the computer... unfortunately they didn't really do anything interesting with it. The last page was really funny.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Iron Man #203 (v1) : It's so easy to switch bodies with people!

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Captain America #291 (v1) : Decent. Cap is definitely a rehabilitation over punishment type of guy.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Fantastic Four #288 (v1) : Doom seems to be really into She Hulk...

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Astonishing X-Men #2 (v3) : Cassaday draws up some great action scenes.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Avengers Spotlight #28b : Turner does not draw a good Wonder Man. This was a two star story, but I'm bumping it up to three because the panels of Wasp in Gargantua's ear was interestingly gross. And I liked the last panel.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Avengers Spotlight #28a : I didn't realize, or I forgot, that Hawkeye is hard of hearing.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Fantastic Four #272 (v1) : What did John Byrne mean by his comments in the letters column?

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Defenders #27 (v1) : The second to last page was just hilarious. Four stars.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Avengers #284 (v1) : This was high quality. The gods match up really well against the Avengers. It kind of reminded me of the battle against Thanos in Infinity Gauntlet. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the last panel was kind of weak.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Tales of Suspense #77a (v1) : Don't get me started on Silver Surfer's genitals.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Thor #274 (v1) : This issue is very Thor-ish. Captures the Asgardian essence well. Which makes sense. Roy Thomas excelled at writing Conan, why shouldn't that carry over to Thor?

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Thor #274 (v1) : Had to look up "churl".

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Wolverine #9 (v2) : Tense, moody. Like a dream... or a nightmare. 5 stars.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Wolverine #8 (v2) : A classic team up, but the issue of forced sex slavery was glossed over pretty lightly.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Web of Spider-Man #6 (v1) : Come on Spidey... just take some damn gold. And leave that guy alone, it's his own stuff!

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Alpha Flight #1 (v2) : What does Alpha Flight have to do with astrology??

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Web of Spider-Man #5 (v1) : I thought the build up to this issue was better than this issue.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Web of Spider-Man #5 (v1) : This is yet another instance of a villain having more technology than makes sense. If Ock can create a super powered robot like that, why can't he make more? And think of all the different things he could achieve with robots like that, evil or good.

Marvel Comments

Johnny Darkness Says:
Amazing Spider-Man #252 (v1) : Unless you count Marvel Age #12!
