Very enjoyable. Dracula really seems to be in peril here, and the script has a surprise or two in it. 8/10

This guy seems way too similar to Galactus for my liking.

Didn't anybody have the cojones to tell Stan that he'd written this same story about 72 issues ago?

Artwork here is ok at times and at times quite good. The inking gets better as we get closer to the end. Backgrounds are a bit limited compared to other Marvel books of late. FF just feels like the creative team is running shorter and shorter on ideas. This story is terribly corny, especially the reveal which is such a non-payoff. The script is actually alright, but the entire 70s comic run is already beginning to feel a bit stale. (3-)

Why is attacking someone the only way to get their attention in the Marvel universe?

This had way too many filler panels... Finally got my attention the last 2 pages.

I didn't mind the filler, since it at least seemed to add to the story a bit in showing his power.

Why is Johnny so amazed that a person can fly? HE can fly!!
Interesting choice to allude to the bad guy being a Judeo-Christian angel. I mean, I'm sure that's not going to be what it ends up being, but it just invites the wrath of the religious right, who were even worse back then.

Not only that but why is the rest of the world so amazed?

Maybe the judgment would have been different if everyone didn't provoke and attack Gabriel for no reason whatsoever.

3 stars for the first appearance of the Air-Walker! Who has a interesting past and future as we will find out in later issues!! Blow your horn Gabriel, blow man, blow!!!

Gentleman's Magazine - I bet Ben just reads Pin-up Parade for the articles!!!

Range - That's some alarm system! The White Hood Gang hasn't even got inside the Baxter yet!! And, speaking of the White Hood Gang, they were really something, weren't they??!!!

Slumlord - I don't think that the Landlord Collins is really trying...

Witchy Warnings - I wonder if the real reason they created Agatha, was because of the fans complaining about the Watcher always interfering?!

Small Potatoes - I also wonder why the peasants would ask that one comrade about what is in the sky? He looks like a line cook in his white hat...

Get Your Wings - I do like the look of the Air-Walker's fire wings!!!

Big Brain - Are we sure Plan "T" doesn't stand for "Terrible Idea"?!!

Pouch - I wonder what else Gabriel keeps in his skirt...

Splash - Awesome image of Gabriel blowing his horn!!!

'Nuff Said - "Hold me! please hold me! D-Don't let me go! Hold me! You--you gotta hold me!"-Needy Hood

Yeesh, those Chinese farmers on page 10 make me a bit uncomfortable with how they're depicted.

Also, what's Reed's plan here? "Quick, let's lure this potential threat back to the densely populated city!"

It's hard to care about a big reveal when all we get is a name that means nothing because we've never met the guy before.

Pretty good set-up for the arc. It seemed kind of a waste of space having the Fantastic Four basically perform stunts to get this Air Walker's attention for about half the comic. But we did get to see what this guy's capable of; probably the whole point of the story.

The White Hood gang was also story filler. It's been a long time since the FF tackled street criminals. Those are some ambitious crooks to try to break in on the Foursome!

3 stars. This arc should be fun. By the way, is that Mary Jane Watson on the cover of Pin-Up Parade?

The best part of this book is it inspired me to imagine Agatha Harkness and the Watcher as neighbors in Boca Raton who get boozy and compete over who can send the Fantastic Four the vaguest doomsday warning.

Mr. Lee clearly started with the idea of revealing Gabriel on the final panel and worked backward. Even invoking Chandler's Law - "When in doubt, have a man come through a door with a gun in his hand" - can't conceal the fact that this issue is packed to the brim with filler material.

How many of these guys are there or how long was he walking on air? China, the Alps, Venice, New York. That is quite a tour to take in a short time.

Great, the Archangel Gabriel is here to sound God's trumpet and end the world.

Worst Blues solo ever.
