Issue Review

Ka-Zar arrives in the Everglades in search of the Man-Thing.
First third is devoted to the jungle hero (and very impressive he is).
Middle-third is a (suitably) murky back-story on the muck monster.
Final third brings them together for a cliff-hanger.

Loved the art work on the Manthing flash back

Huh. I presume the Man-Thing segment was originally made to be a standalone story in Savage Tales or something similar, and was shoehorned in here? It works pretty well, at any rate.

John Buscema is the king of black and white drawnings.

Went to a Ka-Zar story and a damn good Man-Thing story popped in.

The airport part was kinda boring, but the Man-Thing segments are excellents.

5 stars. Great story, especially intertwining Man-Thing in with Ka-Zar.

Nice seeing Ka-Zar crap in his pants when faced with Man Thing.

Nicely woven story to get Man-Thing into the normal Marvel U, and tying nicely into the story ongoing with Ka-Zar. KZ looked very much like He-Man to me in the last page...weird.

Unexpectedly great story. Strong characterization all around, and Roy does a solid job juggling Ka-Zar, Man-Thing, the scientists, and AIM. Len Wein's flashback was integrated really well too.

3 stars for what everyone has already said. Great art, and a nice tie-in to boot!!!

Cover Me - Oh look! Those nice gators are going to help out Bobbi and Paul!!!

Harassment - If I was that one cop, I'd pistol whip that one guy for trying to tell me how to do my job!!

Gator Tail - @AmazingGatorMan: I'm surprised you didn't cry foul over losing one of your brethren!!

Best Man - I love how secure fiancÚ Paul is with Ka-Zar always carrying around his bride-to-be!!

Brother - You just know Zabu is pissed for Ka-Zar leaving him behind!!

'Nuff Said - "Ho, long-snout! You want more than frogs for your supper this night, hey?"-The Alligator Whisperer

If I were in the airport and someone had a sabretooth tiger, I'm not hiding behind a cop, I'm getting behind something much more solid.

Excellent, excellent story. I really enjoyed the way Man-Thing was brought into the Marvel Universe. Everything tied in nicely and the artwork was perfect.

Even though she's engaged, Bobbi doesn't appear to mind being carried by Ka-Zar. I guess what they say is true: whatever knows lust spoons at the Jungle Man's touch!

5 stars. I'd call this one a Man-Thing story with Ka-Zar guest starring.

I liked this much more than I expected, given that I don't care about Man-Thing, and I don't like Ka-Zar.

Loved the art in the Flashback, and the rest was overall good as well.
