Enjoyable average fare.
Once again Banner is held at the military base, close to a cure. Once again, a villain/monster attacks the base and the Hulk is called into action. It's follows the formula of many other stories but adds one or little touches that distinguish it. A little.
The ties to the High Evolutionary and the mild reveal at the end are interesting.

Only the High Evolutionary tie-in kept me from rating this comic one star. The story reminded me a whole lot of Iron Man #36.

Good ending + High Evolutionary kept this weak story from being a total failure, but it was still poor.

I hate High Evolutionary stories. That guy has never had a project that he didn't screw up.

This may be the best Trimpe art to date; the compositions, backgrounds and plotting are excellent. Severin inks are exceptional here. The antagonist appears rather silly, but the payoff, albeit quite corny, is so obvious but I was surprised (I is knucklehead). This script is pretty good. I'm a sucker for the Hulk and I loved this book. Even the coloring is worth a mention. (4)

Oh dear God... What did I do to deserve the punishment of a bad Hulk comic?

I had fun with this one, but why did General Ross think that the Inheritor would stay trapped in there, after he was able to walk through the walls of the place?

Spoiler alert: the Inheritor is a cockroach. There, now don't bother reading the comic.

3 stars for the rise and fall of the Inheritor!!! I didn't mind the little guy, I mean he's no Scarlet Beetle, but come on!!!

Cover Me - The Inheritor is all gold on the cover!!

Duct Tape - You'd think that the tranq attachment would be secured better on Hulk's arm...

Rocket Roach - I think the Inheritor should've already reverted back to a cockroach when he was in space. Since it took place before Thor #134!!!

'Nuff Said - "Pop thet dude off, son...get 'im!"-Lester

The cockroaches will inherit the Earth!!

John Severin inks without a heavy hand, and combined with Herb Trimpe's dynamic layouts, this is one of the best looking Hulk issues in a while.

I wonder how they planned to do maintenance work on those walls after Hulk tears them up.

The Inheritor looked like something out of an Atlas or pre-FF Marvel comic. In fact, this story might've passed as a retelling of something from one of the first six issues of the Hulk from 1962. It was just that cheesy.

I did like the High Evolutionary flashback. Speaking of which, anyone think many of the Marvel Monsters from the real early days actually came from ol' Mr. Wyndham? If the Inheritor weren't devolved like @Locust75 suggested, maybe the High Evolutionary should've just used a large can of Raid.

2 stars. Not horrible, but not a lot to offer either.

I thought the inheritor was going to be Keith Richards, so the cockroach was a surprise

The title page is gorgeous and unique. A moody, captive, haunted Hulk brought to life with Mr. Trimpe's very distinctive style. Love it!

I've got to hand it to Trimpe, I have disliked his art so far but he did some great work here. Hope to see more like this, maybe accompanied by some decent writing.

It bugged me that the Inheritor wasn't a robot, but him actually being a insectoid in the end was a pleasant surprise. Archie Goodwin and Herb Trimpe are a really great team on this book.
