Issue Review
   November 19, 2015
A generic slugfest: a bad guy attacks and Iron Man fights back. The end.
The soap opera subplot was mundane. Next!
His ESPer girlfriend is having visions of her causing his doom, but I found her crying about this for the whole issue to be very annoying. And the last page (where she ran off and left Tony to die) was plain awful.

I was really glad when he got his heart transplant way back, but they've made the new one just as rubbish. Does he really have to almost die from running out of batteries every few issues? =/

Sooo... she's afraid of killing him and leaves him to die?

Adaptoid was built with the power of the Avengers in order to battle superheroes, but wasn't programmed to face their resistance?

Gravity = Mass x Acceleration? If the writers do not understand the basics of physics, they should just not try, Tony is supposed to be a genius.

This felt like an old Heck comic, not the art but the plotting and pace. This art is nice and clean, I enjoyed the inking. The script was perfectly readable. "It's a real heavy trip"? well, a pretty silly line. It seemed like the Adaptoid was having some issues...adapting. I didn't really get it. Old Tony always appears to be somewhat running low on battery power after a couple of moves. Used to be heat charged IM's batteries...now it drains them? Maybe Marvel struggled editing when churning out these extra new titles. This book did feel like filler. I don't see why folks do not like Marianne, a well drawn blond in a mini-skirt is a positive afaiac. (2+)

Not bad for a filler issue... Not good but not bad. No rhyme or reason to this plot it seems.

Actually he was built to absorb the power of the Avengers, which is actually why I think he should have been a much easier foe for Iron Man, as those were the 4 most lightweight Avengers that he adapted to. At the end he seemed to be taking on Iron Man's "powers", but that doesn't make sense, because he doesn't have any, he just has a suit he built. Something tells me that's not going to stop them...
And cripes woman, plug a guy in before running out on him!

2 stars for the return of the Super Duper Adaptoid...yawn...Also, everyone including Marvel, forgot that the Super Adaptoid appeared in Avengers #45! With the added the powers of Thor, Hercules, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Iron Man!!!

Skinny - Claire must be in the 1st trimester...

Blonde Ambition - Marianne's ESPer powers are annoying, but like MrRsBB said, she is easy on the eyes!!!

'Nuff Said - "-A bio-chemical implant that literally forces me to...laugh!"-Super Duper Adaptoid

Man, Pepper's got those crazy eyes on page 13!.

  Russ Says:

I don't know who was the worse enemy this issue: the Adaptoid, or Marianne! If she took a minute to actually think, she might realize that running out on Tony before hooking him up to a power source to charge might be the reason he buys the farm. I swear, some clairvoyants are just too smart for their own good.

Nice to see Pepper again, but like @ClownShoes stated, she had those eyes like the crazy girlfriend meme you used to see on Facebook.

2 stars. Man, the whole bad heart drama is so over-worn now, it's driving me to drink!

At this point a 2 star Iron Man story is the equivalent of James Joyce since this comic is so consistently terrible

I'm super annoyed at the next issue's villain

  Katryn Says:

The Adaptoid is one villain they really don't have to bring back. Really.

  blueballs9 Says:
  2017-12-03 07:48:42
Ok I figured it out. It's not actually Tony Stark in the armor. They're tricking the readers into thinking that but it's really Aunt May in the suit.

  Marksman Says:

So, did Claire leave because she was pregnant or was she dismissed?
Given the times, I would suspect the latter as women were less likely to work pregnant then. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act was not passed until 1978.
