A curious mixture of 'Average' and 'Lame'.
The battle and subplot bits are fine.
The girlfriend stuff is annoying.
It is a packed issue, too.
Lots of story strands vying for attention.
Princess Python makes an oddly sympathetic villain and the stuff on Bast is interesting.
5/10

Princess Python must've been pretty high to try and tackle Iron Man. What did she think was gonna happen?

Ah, if only they had kept the policy mentioned in the letters page of not bringing back dead characters.

Princess Python vs. Iron Man? Who in the bullpen actually thought that was a legitimate matchup?

My goodness, another dog! The art is just passably average, if not bad at times. This story?!? What on earth! Who cares!?! Not me, it feels like we are headed back to the awful Mr. Kline plot. Really, I'll never get that 20 minutes back. Just as they were getting this back on track, an absolute dud! (1+)

I liked it. Sure Princess Python was never a threat to Iron Man, but she wasn't supposed to be, she was trying to kidnap Stark and take off before he got there. And I really on saw that as window dressing for the real stories going on: The relationship crossroads with his crazy woman, and the resurrected (and pretty badass looking) Adaptoid due to those micro-worlders. Damn micro-worlders.

A three-month old blind deaf rabbit wouldn't have been fooled by Tony's excuses, so from now on I believe that Jarvis knows that Tony is Iron Man.

2 stars for Princess Python trying to put the squeeze on Tony Stark!!!

Please Wait - Ugh, 4 pages of Iron Man in charging mode...while in his beryllium underwear!!!

Tension - Yet another awkward passing between Stark and Jarvis!!!

Snake Charmer - It sounds like Princess Python has bigger problems being a strung-out working girl and all...

My Precious - Awww...I'm going to miss the big lug!!!

Cyborg Sinister - At least he looks cooler now!!

'Nuff Said - "I am falling--I cannot control my activities!"-Super Duper Adaptoid

What's with all this "Scene 11" "Scene 12" stuff? Are those production notes that accidentally ended up in print, or just a weird story telling device?

This is the one where Eve and the serpent team-up to give Iron Man an apple! Or something like that....

The ending was really confusing though. I have no idea what those cut scenes in the last couple of pages were supposed to accomplish. However, Princess Python did make for an intriguing villain this time around, even if it was technically no match. But if that snake had made his heart nearly go out again, I was going to call shenanigans!

2 stars. Marianne is a cute blonde, but her ESP is playing up even more drama where there shouldn't be. I'm not really fond of it right now.

I kind of liked Princess Python in this. She felt desperate and sick in the head. It's stupid that her snake is in anyway able to hold its own against Iron Man.

The bit with Stark being captured on tv was nicely done. Otherwise a pointless, useless comic.

I actually don't mind Princess Python, but this loses a star for Iron Man killing the snake in a vat of acid. Animal cruelty was clearly not a hot topic in the early 70s.

This hot mess has endless problems, but one I think previous commenters haven't addressed is how horribly out-of-character Tony and Marianne sound. It's like they're reading out a one-act play written by a self-indulgent goth sophomore. They sound utterly unlike actual humans.

And yet Princess Python gets a flawless, realistic voice. She's a sad, loopy, desperate woman who almost-but-not-quite knows that kidnapping Tony Stark is a *terrible* idea. She's at the end of her rope. She's weak in a regrettable, sympathetic way.

I honestly can't understand how the author came up with such a compelling tragic figure while making such an utter mess of the main story. Tyrr and Jarr from the f@(%*#g micro-world of Bast?

I want to give Princess Python two sympathy stars but I'm so angry with the rest of this trainwreck that I'm searching for the zero stars option.

I gave this one a third star because of Princess Python's breakdown.

Pretty sure that you should never try to shock a constrictor that's already wrapped around you. Just sayin.
