Issue Review

Average slugfest issue, enlivened somewhat by the fact that it's déjà vu of Tony's girlfriend's vision of recent issues.
The fact that the vision (of Tony's death) comes to nothing is a bit of cop out. But it does leave me curious about where they will go with the Marianne Rodgers character from here.
7/10

So... Marianne is annoying and useless, Tony is a huge douche and the Super Adaptoid is lame.

Nothing new, then.

This one's been brewing for a while. It really is not much better than the build up over the past 4 or 5 issues. The art is the best thing about this partially explained tale. The script is really not my cup of tea, its just all over the shop, ugh! This title is completely floundering. (2-)

Good thing I didn't base my concepts of love and how to treat women on Marvel comics...

To be fair GatorMan, if I was dying and the girl I was dating refused to plug in the machine that would save me, choosing to walk away...I think I'd be telling her to get lost too.

If Marianne was really trying to escape her fate, why stick around or keep coming back to Stark's plant? Better yet, when she ran off, don't run towards the plant. Where's all of Starks guards? She could stay safely away and pick up a phone.

2 stars for the Cyborg Sinister turning into the Wicked Witch...Ohhhhh, what a world, what a world!!!

Best Wishes - I like it that Tony has a signed photo of Cap in his office!!

Sock It To Shell-Head - The letter from Jesse Clough perfectly sums up the problems with this series!!!

'Nuff Said - "It-it's like a weekend of sleep-shattering nightmares!"-Dr. Wacky Jaffrey

This one actually wasn't bad. Wasn't great, but wasn't bad. The last page, and the break from Marianne, seemed to signify something of a change in direction for the title. Let's hope it's for the better.

That letter from Jesse Clough not only summed up the problems with the series, it summed up the problems with the character since that piece of shrapnel first hit Tony's chest. No matter how well he improves his armor, in the midst of a fight it's always like the 91st day of the operation of equipment with a 90-day warranty. Just about anyone would've given up the hero biz well before now; I know I wouldn't tolerate that much unnecessary drama.

I'm also thinking that Tony and Marianne breaking up happened because they were written into a corner with her. It was becoming redundant to have her continuing to have all these visions of Tony in danger every issue. But flying her out of danger just to put her on that catwalk just over a vat of acid? He must've been so pissed off at her, I bet he was trying to send her a message!

Hey, does anyone think Jarr and Tyrr seemed a bit like Elliott S. Maggin-era Superman aliens?

3 stars. The story was better than it suggested on the surface. But if we want this title to live up to its potential, maybe we should do what Tony did to get his boot jets working; just give it a good whack!

This is the first one in a while that I've been tempted to give 3 stars to - he may have had to smack it, but his armour actually worked! But Marianne, bloody hell! Maybe try and do something to prevent your vision from coming true. There could have been a lid to that big vat of acid sitting there and all she needed to do was push a button, and she wouldn't have been able to do it, because she would have been so busy bemoaning her damned vision!

The good in this one is the interaction between Marianne and Tony. He doesn't deserve love! Moron.

Yep they turned Marianne into just another prettiot.
Oh and Snazzer should have been looking for a better name in that store.
