I haven’t enjoyed The Beast’s stories in Amazing Adventures, finding them to be rather simplistic. But this one is good.
While everything still lacks the sophistication of contemporary Marvel Comics, it has loads of charm and is fun to read.
The series now has a rather large cast of regulars, it seems, and I really enjoyed seeing them all interact.
7/10

Why is Angel suddenly fighting bare-chested and without a mask? It seems nobody knows how to handle the X-Men anymore!

The villans have been sub-par, but I am really enjoying the character development in this series.

I give this one an X-tra star on account of the Angel! It was awesome to see the Beast fight alongside the Angel again like the good old days! The Griffin sucks! And The Secret Empire storyline is getting annoying and what the hell is Patsy Walker doing anyway!? She has no reason to get into Hank's business like that!

2nd issue in a row ruined by a fourth rate villain.

Man, everyone's trying to get a piece of Beast. For once, I actually didn't mind am appearance by Angel. Also, there are a lot of red heads in the Marvel universe. I think every woman, except Linda, has been a red head in this Beast series.

They all kind of look the same too, I though that Baxter woman was Jean until they actually showed Jean on the next page.

When a story and script are very good or better, the artwork doesn't really matter as much...or does it? The main problem with the script is our antagonist announces his actions too often. The rest of the dialogue is a breath of fresh air; characters talking and thinking like typical humans. The story is also quite good, especially the serial plots that are developing. The artwork, though, just can't compare to the top flight Marvel teams which is unfortunate. There are some nice moments....I am guessing those are all Giacoia:-) (4-)

Continues to set up the Beast solo run very nicely... Throwing in a bit more mystery here and there plus a decent new villain. 3 stars.

Okay, that had to be Vera, I'm sure of it now. It's the only person that makes sense...though what she would know about everyone dying, I don't know.
I would figure that of any X-Men that would go off to help Beast it would be Bobby, as they seemed to be best friends, but I guess it would be harder to shoehorn in a new villain with ice based powers, right?
The color change has Hank a little closer to the real Beast, but still a ways to go.

3 stars for the 1st app of the Griffin! I've always liked him and his changes through the years!!

Good Golly - I like Patsy's little blue dress!!!

Bleached - Scott is so shocked by the news--that his hair turned blonde!!

Muckraker - Jack Anderson was a famous columnist!!

Easy - So, Hank never plays hard to get on the first date...

Number Two - The new Number One is just as incompetent as the old Number One!!!

Cosmetic - The Secret Empire grafted a lion's mane on the Griffin...

Light Weight - It doesn't look like the Griffin was wearing his championship belt at the start of the story!!

'Nuff Said - "I might--ah, shove it!"-Number Nine

Her look, two heroes actually co-operating in a fight. It's surprising how infrequently that happens, rather than everyone taking turns.

The Beast series continues to be solid, although I'm not real sure about the return of the Secret Empire. Good that Linda ripped Number One a new one about his interference, but I'm a little surprised that he didn't send the Griffin after her for her "insolence" and "insubordination."

The interview with CPT Baxter was kinda funny, especially once Patsy stepped in and defended Hank. I always enjoy seeing these arrogant hot-heads being taken down a peg for annoying the protagonist.

3 stars. I'm guessing here without reading ahead, but Hank's hyper-healing ability was probably due to the fact that his body was still mutating at the time. Now that his fur is blue, he's stopped mutating and his body lost that healing factor. Let's see if I get the unofficial no-prize for this theory.

I'm actually enjoying these Beast stories. They're an improvement over most of the old X-Men issues.

Three stars.
