Issue Review

Englehart hits his stride (somewhat) with an issue that is much better than the series has seen in a while. Certain elements are (still) absurd, but it holds together very well and it is an enjoyable (rather than disappointing) read.

Hulk wants to get to Niagara Falls (having been told that Betty is there). Once he reverts back to Banner, Bruce also wants to head to Niagara Falls. Idiot. Anyway, he finds travelers cheques in his pocket. Really!? After all that he's been through while wearing those pants. Hmmm.

Anyway, we get to watch him secure a flight to find Betty only to get all annoyed as he gets close and transform. Once he arrives at the Falls, he is attacked by Tiger Shark who thinks that he is there to find him. Another idiot.

Their fight (and the efforts of newly married Glenn Talbot to get Betty away) make for entertaining. I love the bit where Hulk puts an end to Tiger Shark. Cool. 6/10

Tiger Shark's appearance at Niagara Falls is a bit too convenient, but the action and characterization is quite good in this one!

Tiger Shark makes a good run at the Hulk. Sometimes it's good to see different villains pop up to battle Banner.

Eric Larsen is the modern day Herb Trimpe. This could be a Savage Dragon comic! Clearly Eric was heavily influenced by this. This story is leaps and bounds beyond all the other titles. Nevermind the ridiculous continuity faux pas's. Hulk didn't need to breathe when in space recently & now a few minutes underwater is too much? Poppycock! Nevermind that, the soap opera is compelling enough. If anything, this book piqued my interest in Tiger Shark's origin story. (3)

Really despise the new way Talbot is drawn.

Didn't Tiger-Shark require salt-water or he's weaken and die? Regardless, choosing to hide in one of the tourism capitals of the world is just silly. Seeing Hulk smash him against the rocks was awesome though.

This is quite possibly the best written Hulk issue yet. I'm still not a huge fan of the green guy, but a few more issues handled this well and I might reconsider.

It speaks volumes for Namor as a badass when Tiger Shark hides in a cave for months just to hide from him after killing his father.

3 stars. Niagara Falls...slowly Hulk turned...step by step...inch by inch...!!!

Cover Me - I like how Trimpe & Trapani signed their names!!

Camo - p2,p1 mentions tiny cars, but with the coloring, they just look like part of the trees!!

?Question? - Would Banner know that Betty married Talbot??

Threads - Well, that purple suit wont last long...

Unfit For Command - That's nice of Ross to let the Abomination wander off like that...

Amigo - Yes! More Spad McCraken appearances in the future!!!

Retreat - I'm pretty sure Talbot crapped his pants!!!

Threshold - Eww, Talbot and Betty have been illicit together!!!

'Nuff Said - "But Tiger Shark's not for grabbing!"-Testy Tiger Shark

  - "Hulk Comes!" True gentleman always give warning

- Spad McCraken Spad McCraken Spad McCraken

- Poor Spad McCraken finding Hulk in his back seat, made me laugh

- Betty likes feeling illicit. Also, judging by her acquiescence to Talbot's borderline violent insistence she would love a good Dom.

- I don't feel like Tiger Shark is a good fit as Hulk's Moriarity

- @Locust75 Niagra Falls! Forgot about that routine!

- Now Playing "Niagra" The Wedding Present

Tiger Shark actually isn't a bad opponent for the Hulk; he's fast and wiry even out of water. It's like fighting Namor, except he has teeth. He isn't great as a regular opponent, but it worked well here.

So the general and Talbot are going to keep the Hulk's existence away from Betty? Good luck with that! Taking her on a drive is nice and all that, but they'd also have to keep her away from TV, radio, newspapers, the Internet; can you imagine the two of them trying to get Betty's smartphone from her? "But Glenn, I want to know how the Mets did last night!" "They won again, Betty; trust me on this." I'm looking forward to the realization once she finds out; no, it's not a spoiler, it's simply inevitable.

And speaking of which, Betty feels illicit? Did we just learn a side of Betty we couldn't have possibly imagined? Let's not tell the father of the bride!

3 stars. Nice little arc going here. But I can't wait until Betty finds out!

I laughed at the sequence in the plane. Spad McCraken is an example of comic relief done well.

Good issue overall.
