God damn it Cap don't just leave that thing there! Someone's going to find it, have you never read one of your own comics?

I gotta admit, Knowing how much of a part the Cube plays in the bigger marvel universe, I really liked this arc........

Captain America is a triumph of good over evil at the last possible moment with the villain and threat as ended as they can get in superhero comics. I loved this issue.

The Red Skull shows off his power-madness in fine form; fortunately for Cap, he rates high on the evil scale, but low on horrific imagination. Instead of just wishing for reality to all change instantly, or for Cap to turn into a pile of barely-sentient, Skull-worshipping organic slime, he plans to SLOWLY dominate the universe and raise an army to conquer other planets. At least you're the first major villain from Earth to be thinking about conquering the rest of the universe beyond our planet, Skull. Good for you. Next time, turn your nemesis into a broken wreck of a slave to you right away, especially since the Cube appears to be grip-activated.

Cap decides it's all right to leave the Cube buried in a few feet of sand, of course. Heck, at least in the movie continuity it falls to the bottom of a mid-Atlantic trench and is a LITTLE harder for Howard Stark to find.

Man-Thing sure looked a lot different in the Silver Age.

This was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping the Red Skull with a Cosmic Cube of all things would be harder...nigh impossible to beat. I wonder how Red Skull is going to get out of this predicament, and will that Cosmic Cube ever be found?
Man, a lot of powerful weapons have been tossed to the bottom of the sea. If the Atlanteans ever find any of these, or worse yet, Krang or Attuma, you can kiss the surface world goodbye.

For all the jokes of Cap being an idiot, he outsmarted the Red Skull. 3 stars for a solid issue.

3 stars for the Rambling Red Skull!!!

Mood - The Red Skull must of not liked his yellow scarf, and used the cube to change it to green this issue!

Comics Code - It's a good thing that the Red Skull put some underwear on the Man-Thing, or we would've seen his little....man thing....

King Me - I pretty sure Mark Waid brings back the golden armor decades later...

We Named The Dog Indiana - When the Red Skull dived after the cube. Did anybody else think of the scene in "The Last Crusade" where Indy is trying to grab the grail??

'Nuff Said - "Before you begin, let me kneel before you--as is only fitting!"-Cap

last issue, Red Skull sent the Cosmic Cube Keeper (Kosmic Kube Keeper???) to oblivion in a nearby dimension as soon as he got his prized polyhedric possession, and now he stands mumbling about how he will titillate Cap to death??? it's just difficult to understand...

When Cap jumps the Skull it reminded me of that scene in "The Incredibles" when Mr. Incredible tries to get the jump on Syndrome, who replies "Oh, ho ho! You sly dog! You got me monologuing! I can't believe it!"

Well hopefully never finds that cube again....

The Red Skull loses because he can't get a grip. Seems to happen to a lot of villains nowadays.....

Pretty good story arc, but I didn't feel the suspense or the danger. You'd think the Skull would've done a lot more damage right away with the Cube once he got it, but I guess a body gets wrapped up with the giddiness of playing with a new toy before putting it to any real tests. I wonder how AIM got the technology to create such a reality-altering device anyway....it's certainly not the reality gem.

4 stars. Maybe the Skull survived by wishing himself a set of gills before he let go of the Cube.
