It starts off with Valkyrie wandering around being depressed about her lot in life when she gets attacked by some random bad guys. I hate when stuff like that happens. Too random.
Anyway, Doctor Strange shows up and offers her a (strange) means of finding Namor and Hulk to... talk to them about friendship.
It also happens that Namor and Hulk are vanishing just as our heroine meets them. Luckily she's able to track them down and there's a battle at the end and other stuff. And none of it makes any great sense.
It just stumbles on and on and on, and it's a bit of chore to read.
Very poor stuff. 2/10 |

The story was only decent, but the characterization was top notch. I really enjoyed this one. |

This was not a great story. In fact, I'd call it a little hokey or cheesy. The continuity is handled well, bringing in details from other books while standing on its own. |

This was very much Valk's story, and it was needed to show that she could be a key part of the team. That being said, she made the others look silly by defeating something so easily that they could not handle before. Also Strange isn't even there for the final battle.
@chrys I'm pretty sure her infatuation with him is due to a love spell being on him at the time that she was created. Or maybe he's a really good kissing statue. |

3 stars for the Defenderbots defeating the evil Omegatron!!!
Splash - Valkyrie sure is pointy...
Needy - Black Knight better watch out when he wakes. Val's already taking over his stuff! What's next, using his toothbrush?!!
Cat Fight - I wouldn't mind seeing Val and Clea tussling...lets say pillows at ten paces...
Tough Broad - I like that Val was about to use the Ebony Blade on the Hulk!!!
Mission Accomplished - So, they're just going to leave Omegatron in the ocean with a bomb still capable of destroying the Earth??!!!

So it takes cleaning up another one of Doc's messes (well, the entire Defenders team really, if you think about it) for the rest of the team to consider her as one of them. As long as they don't ask her to do windows or clean toilets.
I liked Nita teaming up with Valkyrie on this adventure. Since the Defenders is essentially a loose congregation of heroes to begin with, it makes sense to have associates working with them on occasion. Or, maybe Nita was simply bored since that little sailor boy from Sub-Mariner #54 wasn't there.
3 stars. Val's potential is through the roof here. But you think the Black Knight would accept Aragorn going off with a new master when he wakes up? |

I like that Valkyrie is genuinely bringing something to the team. Although what happened to the weapon she had last issue? Did she drop it for something better? That's going to be awkward if Strange can get the Black Knight de-petrified. |
