Self-contained standard fare. Baddie with plan; DD and Black Widow track him, confront him... End of Plan.

Chris Claremont adds some nice touches: the use of the library late at night is cute, and so is the final scene. 6/10

Ah, good, another milestone! Nr. 1400! (At the moment of my reading.) Let's celebrate that momentous number with...

Stilt-Man?! No, you've found my Achilles Heel! Damn you, Order, damn you...

I dont need no radar sense to know that Daredevil sucks at this point.

3 different creative teams in 3 issues, that's not good. I still miss Colan as an artist, but Claremont knows how to write. Unfortunately, the plot doesn't fare well, especially with Stilty.

Claremont almost makes Stiltman sinister and dangerous in this story. Almost.

Stiltman should not take 4 pages to defeat.

Stiltman is not very intimidating. Like, not at all.

-- C'mon, DD, Stiltman could destroy the city if we don't stop him!
-- Yeah, yeah, we'll stop him. We'll just have to stop laughing first...

Nr 1415 at the time of this comment.

So in roughly 2 years, another 15 books has been added in the first decade ;)

This story wasn't bad, but I had a hard time connecting to it. The villains seemed very one-dimensional and the two lead heroes had very little chemistry. The art however, was very engaging and I think it carried the story. The dark brooding atmosphere and well drawn interactions between the characters had my eyes darting from cell to cell. DD doing flips and slapping the scientist were very memorable. I read for Claremont, but Shores and Giacoia stole the show. That ending though? Knock him over, the end? Really?

Haven't been able to read a DareDevil in a while due to MU not having it, I don't seem to be missing much.

They should have had Natasha laughing at the fact that DD has an arch enemy named Stilt Man. I actually don't mind that they use him, it's the fact that they try to make him seem so powerful. The guy just has stilts!

I know it's Daredevil's comic, but really. Black Widow should be able to beat Stilt Man. All you have to do is knock him over...

Wow now it's no 1628 a year later.

Tasha should stop using calling DD by Matt when they are swinging by open windows.

Just 2 stars for Stilt-Man...steppin' off!!!

Threat Level - Daredevil thinks to himself that Barker better watch it. He's in the big leagues now...really???

No Prize - DD's radar shouldn't act like an x-ray!!!

Secure - Who knew barred windows were so easy to break through?!!

Incognito - I guess Carl Kaxton changed his name to William Klaxton after the events of DD #8...

First Responder - Is Peter Corbeau on every superheroes speed dial??!

Tenant - I think that guy should worry less about Widow being loud, and worry more about the guy on his roof!!!

'Nuff Said - "Hey hey, Johnny the Rake'll pay good money for a workin' rod..."-Eddie Boy

Yess! Stilt-Man! I was wondering when they'd bring him back! It's about time, too! I....hey, wait a minute. Sorry, must still have a little of whatever was in my system when I read last issue!

In fact, Stilt-Man's appearance here was even more underwhelming than usual. Here he comes across as some stark raving lunatic with a gun and not much of a plan. This one would've fit right into the Daredevil mid- to late-60's stories. And @AwesomeSauce said it best; Natasha took four pages to battle him, and lost. Daredevil swings in and takes him out with a single kick. Are they trying to make her look inept here?

@Locust75: I don't think Dr. Corbeau is in every heroes' speed dial, but clearly he's in Chris Claremont's. Corbeau and/or his Starcore One project have been referred to in Hulk #148 and Avengers #102, both stories Claremont's been involved in plotting! Corbeau didn't really serve any purpose here except for Claremont name-dropping him; I'm thinking Starcore One is a pet project Claremont's working on, for a little bit of sun-gazing. Or bird watching. Maybe some of both...?

2 stars. Likely a filler issue, taking a break from the arc brewing over the last few issues.

Ah Stilt-Man. All they need now is to bring back the Leapfrog. I'm actually a little disappointed he only rated a mention and not an appearance in the 100th issue.

What's with all the chubbins talk in this issue? DD calls two different guys "chubbins", neither of whom seem at all overweight... oh right Matt's blind. 😜
