Issue Review

Good conclusion to the circus two-parter. The flashbacks, and the characters, are interesting.

Series seems to be getting better now that Len Wein is writing it. 9/10

Mike Ploog is improving with each issue.

Is this the same Bloodstone that turns up later in the Bloodstone series and a Cap arc?

The ending ruined it, too convenient for me to believe...

An improvement over last issue since it actually explained what was going on, but I still don't understand the Mige's motivation for hating Jack so much, if he was going to get rich off of him.
So even though we often see the werewolf getting his butt kicked around in one on one fights with humans, in this issue he was able to beat 3 lions at the beginning, and a group of carnies at the end.

I actually like Len Wein's writing a lot. He creates the atmosphere well and moves the story along at a good pace. The problem is that we don't know anything about these characters, heroes or villains, so it's really hard to care what happens to them.

So I'm wondering if they've completely dropped the dead mother / evil step-father plot line, or will we get back to it eventually?

Wasn't it ironic that the Swami was from Nepal, yet searched the world over looking for the Bloodstone, only to find it in the Himalayas? He should have started looking there first and saved himself some time!

And finally, poor Buck... He looks pretty sad in that chicken costume. The circus wasn't even TRYING with that one!

3 stars for the life and times of the Amazing Bloodstone Jumping Bean!!!

Credit Due - @skalchemist: He had help from Jim Mooney!!

Shock - The Rihva's spell worked so well that it turned Buck's hair blond!!! (p12,p3)

Cluck - @GroovyGolem: Also, as dressed like a chicken, poor Buck is probably the circus geek!!!

Hat Hair - Halfway through the issue the Executioner's cap is colored to look like his hair!!

Kidney Bean - @leisch: As far as I know this is not THE Bloodstone, but it does have a cool history though!!!

Cold Blooded - Man this series...not only do the bad guys get it, but the slow helpful ones as well...

'Nuff Said - "The rubes aren't going to like that, Swami!"-Carny Calliope
