#103 co-stars Spider-Man (but in a logical way) and Steve Gerber writes a wall-to-wall action issue with lots of story, too. The script hints at an ongoing story arc, and the baddie is more interesting, and likable, than you'd expect. Really enjoyable. 9/10

Is Ramrod a prototype of Wolverine? I think so. Len Wein probably realized the enhanced skeleton and blue collar attitude were good concepts and further fleshed out the idea with ol' Wolvie. Maybe?

So does DD know Spider-Man's identity at this point? He certainly should after this issue. I seem to remember it coming up once before, though.

An extra star for Spidey. Ramrod is the latest in a string of very lame villains in the secondary titles. A couple references to DC tropes in this issue, so I assume the folks in the Marvel Universe read DC comics along with their "fictionalized exploits" of the MU heroes.

I thought DD sensed Peter's heartbeat in earlier issues and knew he was Spidey.

Yeah DD knows Spidey is Parker, just another reason this issue was a dud. No story to speak of, just a big fight over papers. And Ramrod makes no sense. If all they did was replace his skeleton with steel, then at the rest of his is still flesh so he would still easily be hurt. Driving his fingers into the wall to climb it would result in the skin from said fingers being shorn off, and his brain and organs would have turned to mush from that fall.

The line about "a catch other heroes only dream of" was harsh. I was like Damn, spider-man is right there man...

Don Heck does not draw a very good Spider-Man.

I just assumed Ramrod's mysterious benefactors hid the full extent of the enhancements they performed, especially seeing his reaction once he awoke.

  - That title! Of course it's Gerber, the man who will bring us Giant-Size Man-Thing!

- I imagine Ramrod being played by Ernest Borgnine "Moider?" (11:9) Which makes DD & BW a Hart to Hart remake II could live with.

- Maybe Mike & Matt Murdock can remake Simon & Simon?

- At first read this is not a great comic, but it kept me reading and interested all the way through. Ramrod was actually interesting. I think Heck hurts the issue, but almost fits the "I ain't nuttin but a comic book" humbleness of the whole package. Gerber keeps making parallels with Ramrod and Superman which I don't have an answer for yet. Thinking about there were a bunch of weird subtle bits that made this a valid place to start thinking about ideas about super dude narratives, or at least Gerber's super dude narratives, that I haven't quite put my finger on yet.

2 stars for us poor readers being ramrodded into reading another issue of Daredevil!!!

Secondary Mutation - DD wishes he had x-ray vision...even though he just used it last issue!!! (DD #102)

No Prize - They gave Peter blue eyes!!!

Distance - @VitualAdept: Don't worry, Spidey was several blocks away!!!

Tear It Up - Well, I guess Ramrod can always team-up with Ramrod from Iron Man #36-37 and start a demolition business!!!

'Nuff Said - "Easy, Ramrod, easy...!"-Daredevil

Hmmm, so Peter Parker's a reporter now, in addition to being a photographer. I guess being on the Bugle staff makes a guy get tasked out for other things.

After all the weird stories Daredevil and the Widow have been in lately, this one was actually a breath of fresh air. Straightforward fight issue, albeit I'm not real impressed with the villain, but fun nonetheless.

Since Daredevil's and Spidey's powers both are based on radioactivity, wouldn't that "thing" in Ramrod's head hurt him as he got close to them? I'm guessing there's something else that led him to those papers and his employers gave him a story about it. Meh, good enough.

2 stars, but I'd give it 2 1/2 under a half-star rating system. Wasn't horrible, wasn't great. But that's been the entire Daredevil series at its best so far.

I thought Spidey had also worked out that DD was Matt. I guess it didn't come up in this one regardless.
