Pitch-perfect mix of personal life drama, exciting action scenes and a larger-than-life villain.

Of all the things I enjoyed about this issue, and there were many, it was probably the idea of Steve Rogers having his personal belongings taken from him and sold. Really felt for the guy. 9/10

This seems more like it should be a Doctor Strange story or something.

cant belive that im the first to rate this above 3 stars, i realy liked it! (or gunslinger rated it 5, but he allways either rates things 5 or 1 star(s)...)

All I could think of when they were fighting the mummies was that Cap and the Falcon were destroying priceless historical artifacts. I'm guessing that was not the intended reaction.

So Cap fights werewolves, then giant spiders, then mummies? Are you serious? Is this Werewolf By Night now?

  Pure pulp goodness!

As racist as the Yellow Claw sobriquet is, he is one formidable foe! I like him better than the Mandarin at this point in the order.

So did the bullpen actually think that mummies were bandages filled with ash? That's kinda weird, no?
I don't think I like where they're going with Peggy. I mean, I get it, she's been through a lot, but you would think her family would be more comforting to her than the guy she was crushing on when she was younger. I really hope they don't turn her into a pitiful character, she deserves better.

Cap has slowly become a pretty solid book with a good and diverse supporting cast and interesting sub-plots that intersect with the main story in logical ways. In overall quality, it's now a step below Spider-Man; Steven Englehart has really taken the reigns and ran with it.

Other notes--

The Best Laid Plans: Yellow Claw is still coming across as more bluster than anything, and his plan doesn't seem to make a lot of sense as it's getting hard to tell where his priorities lay. There's still more arc to go, so maybe it'll all come together better. But so far, other than making Cap hurt Fury, all the Claw's done is make a dusty old museum even dustier! Everybody: whatever you do, don't sneeze!

That Ol' Black Magic: @duncanm: I'd guess the magicks used to raise those mummies probably burned out their bodies, not unlike the voodoo spell that turned Simon Garth into the Zombie led to faster decomposition of his body.

Veterans of Foreign Wars: Speaking of which, I wonder if these mummies have any connection to the group N'Kantu led back in the day (Supernatural Thrillers #5).

Odd Couple: Did anybody think to themselves that the Falcon should've sent Peggy anywhere else BUT Leila's place? (pg. 15 pn. 5)

Rock You Like a Hurricane: I think it might've been cooler if Cap and the Falcon faced a bunch of those scorpions instead of spiders last issue.

3 stars. I'm still not impressed with the Yellow Claw, however. While it's cool that Marvel incorporates story elements from the past (as in Timely and Atlas) I still think this is one element that should've stayed in obscurity.

3 stars for mean ol Cap going after someone's mummy!!!

Credit Due - You know Sal just doesn't seem to draw spiders and scorpions right!!

Ditzy Dames - Just when Leila is becoming somewhat normal...now Val's acting up!!!

Bonanza - I wonder it Hop Sung is related to Hop Sing??

Tussle - I bet Cap went back later to revisit Scarlett...

Walking Dead - Cool scene of the half mummy still attacking Cap!!!

Pulp - So where did the giant zombie things come from? Hop Sung, or improved mummies??

'Nuff Said - "Easy on the Cub Scouts, partner--"-Captain Eagle Scout

Mummies? Really? The Yellow Claw talks tough, which is cool, but his plan so far is as pathetic as those mummies.
