Strange convoluted tale. Not sure exactly what it was trying to accomplish. 4/10

  -Stupid priest!
-I laughed hard at Marvel's article in the letters page where they call DC our Deceptive Competition!

Theroblem with these Tomb of Dracula stories is that there is no real motion any particular direction. Dracula gets the upper hand, gets defeated, escapes, rinse, repeat. I have got another 56 of thes to read, and every one of them is getting one star if they don't figure out a way to transcend the formula that worked, charitably, for ten issues or so.

Fanatical anything is dangerous, which this issue sort of touched on with fanatical Christianity. I'm not saying all Christians are bad.... But sheesh.

Crazy people be crazy. If you hear God's voice, the only person you should be sharing it with is a psychiatrist.

This title s on the edge of losing my favor. I'm struggling with Marv Wolfman's plotting.

This issue demonstrates two big flaws of a lot of Marvel in this era. Even when they have a good issue or a good multiissue arc they frequently tell stories that appear to have no thought about how it fits into the overall story. Why have Dracula lose to the vampire hunters if in the next issue it's immediately undone by a miraculous coincidence? And does Dracula have any motivations besides being a bad guy? Like most Marvel villains it seems like the answer is no.

I'm not as down on this series as others. Consistently three stars, but that's ok. Admittedly the art is a big draw for me.

They rushed this story, Dracula being resurrected and killed by a flock of fanatic Xtians is actually pretty interesting. He should have suffered their ministrations for a while.

I didn't think this concept was all that bad, either: psychotic priest resurrects Dracula, then dies trying to correct his mistake. But the artwork made the execution seem really muddy and hard to follow.

And I wonder if this Doctor Sun guy and his henchmen are all cohorts of the Yellow Claw. I just don't know if Marvel likes to caricature all Asians; these guys look just as stereotypical. I do understand the Vietnam era is closing when this issue came out, but....

2 stars. Gotta love the way Drac carries himself like he's already won.

Ok, who's been telling the crazy priest about vampires? Surely that's need to know basis information, and he really doesn't need to know.

Just 2 stars for Dracula being born again!!!

Cover Me - That's really not what happened! They could've at least shown Josiah Dawn leading the zealots!!

Jaundice - @Russ: Yeah, Dr. Sun's men seem more...yellowed this issue...

Hellfire & Brimstone - I've been to some tent revials that were just as crazy! Very traumatic for a little kid!!!

Shocking - Great, now Drac can control lightning...Thor shall be hearing about this!!!

'Nuff Said - "WE'RE KILLING SATAN'S DEMON, LORD!"-Frenzied Townsfolk
