A+ stuff.
Doctor Strange & Silver Surfer arrive to rescue Hawkeye and the others. And the archer sticks around at story end.
There are small interesting character moments for Valkyrie and The Hulk. 10/10

Indeed. I prefer reading about the Hulk in this title than in his solo title.

The Red Ghost looks like Jesse Ventura with that crazy clown hair!! Too funny. He should be seeking hair club for super men instead of world domination.

I hope the Ghost never makes an appearance ever again...

Loving the schemes of Dormammu and Loki.

"Oh no, the whales have punched a hole in our walls...that they could have just swam over...jerk move really!"
And next issue begins the main event. Please don't suck!

No colours or Smart Panel formatting in the Marvel Unlimited version of this :(

  - Alt 'Nuff Said (they are all alt unless they are Locust's): " The surface-crawling harridan falls to her knees, gibbering insanely." I just like the sound of it.

This one seemed to mark time before the big event with the Avengers. I just had a feeling that, once Doc and the Surfer got involved, it was going to turn into a curb-stomping (or what passes for one in the still-conservative storytelling of the 1970's). And yeah, once the two did that spell to cut off the Red Ghost's mind-control, it didn't take long for the insurrection to fail. All to clear the decks for what's coming up....

Poor Hawkeye; he's probably tempted to change that "H" on his forehead to an "L". He's been beaten down so often now, he's no longer fighting it, such as when Sub-Mariner took him down off-panel on page 3.

Not real sure about the little war going on in Valkyrie's head. But it's interesting enough to see where it goes; hopefully it's not swept under the rug.

3 stars. I wonder if the Fantastic Four felt that bit of interference from the Doc's spell. I'll have to remember this for when the Order picks up on the FF again.

I really wish the rest of the Defenders would stop being so mean to the Hulk. I bet they're just jealous that he keeps stealing the show. That's the real reason they left him unconscious at Dr Strange's place rather than taking him with them to go save the others.

2 stars for the A Team coming in to save the day!!!

Swinger - It looks like that stupid medallion of the Red Ghost's would knock him out all the time!!!

Only Human - I like it that Hawkeye admits he can't defeat Namor!!!

Grudge - I mentioned it last issue, and you see here that the Red Ghost puts himself in a better light.
So, I can't wait to see Unicorn's version of past events in Iron Man #57-58!

Limation - You know, I actually like the Red Ghost trying to expand his powers. But, it's so hard to take him seriously, with his stupid costume and Bozo the Clown hair!!!

Savage - Whoa! Kind of extreme for the Silver Surfer to jump the Hulk like that!!!

Sound Effects - CROM! PLOOG!

'Nuff Said - "What happened? My body no longer shapes itself to my desires--"-Red Ghost

I know they (sort of) explained it, but Hawkeye shooting arrows underwater is SOOOO ridiculous.

And the explanation of how Red Ghost maintains his powers (and his control on his minions) feels like it's not consistent with past stories...
