#119 is jam-packed with story and character moments and good stuff like that. Villain is so-so but it's still an enjoyable read.

I'm starting to like Mantis. The Swordsman? Not so much.
And the ongoing Vision/Scarlet Witch love story is great. 6/10

This comic references the Marvel/DC crossover comic set in Rutland previously - one of the editor's notes lists comics set here and it says:

"Let's see now... Avengers #83, Marvel Feature #2, Thor #207, Amazing Adventures #16, Jus--*AHEM!* -- Red-faced Roy"

Jus--tice League, of course!

I cringed when I saw this was set in Rutland, but other than the way Scarlet Witch is acting I enjoyed this one (I also enjoyed "this one" aka as the Mantis).

The Collector is nothing but a decrepit, walking talking introvert cliché.

I'm really not understanding how Mantis won the day. The chute was supposed to be rigged to blow if even Vision tried to go in incorporeal, but she can go in without issue? And it's not like she's avoiding the explosives, her thigh is touching one pack, and her boob another. Does it not respond to sexy bits?
If nothing is sharper than Cap's shield then why does it bounce off og the bad guys instead of making 2 bad guy halves?

The real villains of this mag were the Avengers. Jarvis spent ALL day making 7 different meals. Thad messed up.

The Collector's character seemed off here. He came across as crazy.

I feel like Bob Brown's art has improved. This story was good until the bats were introduced, then it rwally went off the rails.

I initially read your comment as "The Collector is nothing but a decrepit, walking talking invertebrate cliché."

What a cruel punishment for Loki... to live out his days of insanity alone... in Rutland, Vermont!

Eating McDonald's as I read this... and it references McDonalds. I swear sometimes I feel like these comics were written just for me.

He said MacDonalds. The restaurant chain from Coming to America.

No, the restaurant chain from Coming to America was McDowells. MacDonalds is the way English people pronounce McDonalds.

Not thrilled with the return of the Collector, although his MO is at least a little interesting. Still, I agree that his appearance here doesn't seem consistent with his prior (and subsequent) appearances. And the way Mantis took care of him makes me wonder how and why he's given the Avengers so many fits in the past.

Also, it strikes me that the Collector wouldn't necessarily care about Rutland in order to set a trap for the Avengers. To do so outside where the group normally operates is really presumptuous for an alien.

And yeah, having Loki stay just outside Rutland made me laugh. I didn't realize the Avengers hated Tom Fagan so much!

2 stars. Hey, you think an Avengers Quinjet could fit in a McDonald's drive-thru?

I hope those pelts weren't too valuable, they're all dirty and covered in tree now. I mean really, what sort of collector is he? You can't use the thing!

Just 2 stars for the Collector trying to set up a curio shop in Rutland. He really should start out small and work his way up...like say maybe the Teen Brigade!!!

Credit Due - Very rough art from Bob Brown and Don Heck!

Brinks - You can tell it's going to be a rough issue when the Avengers spend three pages fighting their security system...

Live Aid - Black Panther mentions events in Wakanda. So, I guess we'll be seeing Jungle Action #6-8 in the order soon?!

Rhymes With Witchy - @john54542: Agree about Wanda, she was acting way over the top!!

Shafted - If the shaft twists and bends...wouldn't the stones have hit each other?? Also, why didn't Mantis touch the stones together when she found them, and not later when she climbed back to the top???

Mystery Men - So, on the last page, who are the superdudes that the narrator pointed out???

'Nuff Said - "Sounds like someone with a gag in his mouth! I've heard enough muffled groans in enough dark places to know!"-Sadistic Swordsman
