Issue Review

Epic! Villains from recent issues return (as master plan is revealed). City in chaos! Plus: hints of love triangle? The idea of an attraction between Daredevil and Moondragon seems very sudden, but also: bodes well for future storylines. Seeing Daredevil get his sight back (briefly) is also kinda cool. 9/10

I thought DD temporarily getting his sight back was handled pretty well.

Plus one star for DD briefly getting his sight back, minus 2 for starting a 'romantic complications" plot with Moondragon mooning over DD.

I'm starting to, as it's beginning to ramp up. The coloring is much improved this issue as well. Definitely looking forward to the next issue with Captain Marvel and tying it all in with the larger Thanos narrative.
Once again disappointed with handling of the Black Widow however. She's really been marginalized the part few issues.

I can only imagine what this story would have looked like with a better artist. Thumbs up for all the past threads coming together, thumbs down for an unconvincing love triangle and poor treatment of Black Widow. Gerber is kind of wasted on these more mainstream superhero books though, he needs something weirder.

This was a very compressed issue. The DD/Moondragon story would have worked better if it was told over multiple issues. And Terrex is the only thing close to a memorable villain here.

That awkward moment when a sightless man sees his girlfriend for the first time... and then asks to be blind again.

  - Terminated to Prove a Point sounds like a great grindcore song title (7:1)

- The Dark Messiah calling Black Widow unchaste (15:5)

- Strangely enjoyable issue, it really should not have worked

- Now Playing "I Can See Clearly Now" Johnny Nash

Daredevil himself said it best; he's not suited for this cosmic stuff, and honestly, it just doesn't work in this title. No way, no how.

But having said that, this issue was much much better than I ever expected it to be. Having horn-head regain his sight for much of the story added an emotional resonance I never expected in an early DD mag. The only problem: I thought he asked for it back too matter-of-fact-like. Regardless, this is probably one of the better DD stories that you'd never expect Frank Miller to write.

Side note: is anybody even remotely curious about the possibility of Natasha and Paul getting together? Sure, it might be a hit to her integrity, but the way she's been treated in these pages, DD could sure use his ego and arrogance toward her shaken up. Besides, he did seem attracted to Moondragon, and Natasha definitely noticed.

Finally, didn't really appreciate the megalomaniac turn Broderick took. Now he acts like just about any other Marvel villain who wants to rule over people. He was better off doing his work behind the scenes before the reveal.

4 stars. Kind of a weak 4 stars, but I like that this issue took some chances and made it work pretty good. But, is it me, or does Terrex merely look like a moss-covered Hulk?

And Moondragon is cool again. Hell, even the Widow gets to do something. Probably mostly because Daredevil either isn't there or is useless because, go figure, he has no depth perception given how long he hasn't been using his eyes. Which should have been a problem in healing Moondragon, but hey, not going to complain too much.

A great issue of DD doing a little moonlighting!!!

I wish somebody would bring back Mordecai the Dark Messiah! Also, creepy scene of Janis dying!!
