Namor's temperament (once again) is the real star. The scenes in the hospital (as he stomps around) stand to separate him from the rest of the Marvel Comics Superheroes. 9/10

A bit of a deceiving cover here - that wasn't a real fight between Spider-Man and Subbie.

Heh, Spider-Man was completely unnecessary to the plot in this issue. They only threw him in so he could be put on the cover.

Force doesn't strike me as a terribly ambitious supervillain if he was willing to settle for being king of NYC's theater district...

Am I the only one who hates Subby's new costume and it's origin?

This issue reeks of desperation. It's clear that Marvel knew the end was nigh.

Yeah, that cover is definitely bait and switch. Spider-Man is basically there in the story to try to trick people into buying this issue, and to facilitate the "story so far" explanation.
Next issue is Piranha? Thinking of the other fish themed villains Subby has fought, is anyone else hoping for a razor toothed midget?

On the one hand, it's good to tie up loose ends, but on the oher hand I didn't need any more Zephyrland. Hopefully this is the end of all that.

  Yay! No more Zephyrland!

They only included Spider-Man in order to sell magazines. Sales here must be really flagging to use him in such a manner. Plus, it appears they're using a rotating roster of older artists on the mag: Don Heck last issue, now George Tuska here. Signs that this title is on its last legs.

At least the Zephyrland side quest is winding down. They figured out music is what kills Virago's troops? The only way this is even remotely believable is if they played them Justin Bieber tunes!

The final showdown with Force was a bit too short in my opinion, but perhaps it was more appropriate than a drawn-out battle. He's not a great villain and has a cheesy power, though I still never got how a force field can bring people collectively out of a coma. Anyway, glad this plot's done.

2 stars. Wasn't horrible, but you can tell this book is seriously losing steam.

I dunno, that jumped all over the place, but I still kind of enjoyed it. Although I can't help but think that given Force had to turn on his defences, the police could take him out pretty easily with one well placed sniper....

Any non-spidey title that shoehorns Spidey in just to sell comics automatically gets 1 star from me.
