Gotta say, I still don’t think that Kirby can draw a beautiful Sue Storm, but the Enchantress…hachi machi

One of the better Thor stories thus far.

Yeah, this is quality stuff by Thor standards thus far. I like that he's actually fighting Asgardian villains rather than boring communists with and criminals with ugly costumes. Hope there are more stories like this in the future.

Not bad at all... Probably one of my favorite Thor comics up to now. They really should use more Asgardian enemies to fight Thor.

Dang, Enchantress is the most attractive Kirby female character by several miles. After all the frustration with Odin blocking him on Jane Foster, it must have taken some real Asgardian honor to shut her down.

Really like this issue, it's nice to see Thor fight villains on his level.

I'm starting to really love just how pissed Odin is about Thor wanting Jane. So Loki and Odin have it in for Thor and are going to continue screwing with him. I like this direction. I also like that he's fighting other gods, and that one of them starts turning into a tree. Tales of Asgard is kicking so much ass that the gods are supplying readers with extra seat cushions.

Woah, what an issue! The Enchantress is awesome, and The Executioner is no slouch either. Plus, the Tales of Asgard in this one is my favorite in that series of back-ups so far. Really, I have nothing to complain about in this issue. I really want to see just what Odin can do next issue.

This was very nostalgic for me. I became a huge Thor fan when I was a kid and reading these stories in 25 cent reprints. Love love love the team of J.K and C.S.

Best Thor in a few issues. Enchantress is smokin' hot. Between her & Sif, I have no idea why the big lug would keep pining for Jane.

Haha well although people like this issue it really pisses on continuity, I mean he destroyed two gods at half power when he couldn't stand a chance against a future robot built for mining? Odin wanted Thor to fall for the Enchantress yet he didn't remove his ability to resist her? This issue does nothing to separate itself from other issues when it comes to story people just don't pay attention when they see "Thor's foes" but does it really separate itself that much? Just some food for thought I enjoy these issues even with these problems I just feel like other people hate to hate haha

I think the Enchantress is, by far, the sexiest woman so far presented in the Marvel Universe. Inthe words of Johnny Storm: "Yay bo!".

I really enjoyed both Tor features in this issue. The sbplot of Thor's love for Jane Foster is being ell handled, and I must admit I'm looking forward to the next issue to see how it gets resolved..

This issue was pretty good, but the Enchantress put a bad taste in my mouth at the beginning of the issue. I was thinking I wasn't going to like it so I was pleasantly surprised when it started getting better. Still not great, but heading in the right direction.

Ok, I don't know if it was the introduction of two new Demi-Gods, Enchantress and Executioner, or what...but I actually enjoyed this Thor story. And of course Tales of Asgard was good as always.

I really liked Enchantress and Executioner in the 2010 Avengers cartoon series, and they are handled pretty well here, too. This is a solid, enjoyable issue, especially for the Silver Age.

Who is in love with Jane? Is it Don or Thor? Are they the same person or different people? In the earlier issues, I assumed they were different people, but now they seem to more like on person.

5 stars for the 1st app of E&E!!! While the Enchantress goes on to be a major villain for not only Thor, but other heroes. The Executioner just kinda fizzled out. Which I never understood; He was strong like Thor, had an powerful weapon like Thor, and even had a sweet crib!

Cover Me - Awesome cover! Shame that the title took so much space away from it.

Jane Foster Must Die - The one time I wished the bad guys would of won!

Master Plan - Ugh, They're both from Asgard, and still don't know how Thor's hammer works???

Tall Tales - Dwarfs, a Dragon, & a Boar God, Oh My!!!

'Nuff Said - "Create a wardrobe for me! Immediately!"-Enchantress

  1. thorapalooza continues!
2. all hail the order.....thor gets back from the future and, like any rational being, gets some rest. this is so much better than reading these s month apart.
3. jane, mild mannered nurse, is so powerful that she can consistently escape the will of the king of the gods.....without even knowing she is his nemesis
4. enchantress is an epic villain. i like when she turns on executioner. much more depth than the usual villain
5. its not the size of the hammer...its how you use it
6. very nice tales of asgard and a very solid issue

How does Thor beat two god with only half of his power? Other than that it was a good issue. I love the Tales of Asgard ,and how they expand the mythology of the marvel universe.

Honestly, got burnt out on the Thor "Journey into Mystery" stories, way back and decided to move forward. I've now decided to give "essential" issues a shot and I gotta admit this is the best Thor story I have read thus far. Major improvement has me wondering if I should bother with the non-essential stuff this early on. The art and the villains were great. Much better than Thor tackling thugs and criminals.

  Urgat Says:

i am confused....has Thor gained back his full power? Because nothing is mentioned about it the whole issue and holy Shit does he use strong powers and abilities to fight the two demigods...I don't like such inconsistency....also i expected a fight between Thor and both villains not just one at the Time....easy for thor this way...

  wingot Says:

When the enchantress first showed her face I thought it looked like a cross between Sue Storm and Namor ...

Enjoyed this story, but the whole "Thor is only at half power" plot from the previous story never even got mentioned.

I'm guessing they forgot to resolve the "half power" issue, so as he continues to impress his strength and powers, I will always think "he's actually twice this strong"

Also, I'm really bothered that Loki is suddenly free to not only roam Asgard as he pleases but also suggest plans and ideas to Odin. Does Asgard suffer from short term memory loss?

  • That’s my line – “My strength has returned!” (Thor) – Yes people, he said it in the beginning of the story! I thought Thor’s powers returning would have been emphasized a bit more than that ever subtle statement… With an apology from All-Daddy, for example?

  • Odin owns a much more elaborate and tasteful wardrobe than Loki and Thor!

  • On that matter, are Asgardian Gods subject to the odor of sanctity? Or does Thor’s clothes go to the Cosmic Laundromat when he changes into Dr. Blake? I guess we’ll never know!

  • Of course, the first person who comes to Odin’s mind is the Enchantress, and not Sif! What kind of father is that?

  • The Enchantress’s costume makes her look fat at the waist. And a waist is a terrible thing to mind! Great leggings, though! But WOW! Did Kirby make a spectacular job with her face or what?

  • ”Speak up… I’m very busy!” Dr. Blake’s bedside manners need some tuning!

  • Am I to assume it is OK for Asgardians to know Thor’s mortal identity?

  • The Executioner’s house has a peculiar, yet magnificent architecture. I could live in a place like that!

  • I was afraid having so many issues of the same series back to back in the Order would get be difficult. Well, fortunately, we’re not talking about Tales to Astonish! Kirby’s work is outstanding and the story is the best of this series yet. Please, more of that! Oh, I truly can’t wait to see what Odin has in mind. 5 stars!

In the space of a mere two issues, inker Chic Stone has already surpassed everyone *not* named "Roussos" as an inker over Jack Kirby's pencils on this title. His line work is clean, bold, and absolutely confident; the Asgard sequences, in particular, are nicely tinged with cosmic throughout. Bravo!

The *big* news here, however, is the debut of one of my very favorite Marvel baddies of all time: the deadly and alluring Amora, the Enchantress (... or, as I like to call her, "raawwwrrrr"). ;) Her introduction provides a much-needed expansion of Thor's rogues gallery which, after Loki, is still depressingly threadbare at this junction. (No, Mr. Hyde and the Cobra absolutely do *not* count as pluses.) The Executioner makes his first appearance here as well, but -- as Locust75 mentions, above -- his villainous star will not shine anywhere nearly as long, nor as brightly.

An exciting adventure, smartly and sharply told -- a full five stars worth!
