Why does Unicorn talk to Iron Man like he knew that he's Tony? Stan, you blew it again!

I was wondering the same thing fragsel. Why does the Unicorn keep referring to the factory as Iron Man’s life’s work and Pepper as his secretary?

The Unicorn: One of the worst and dumbest looking villains ever.

I completely understand what Tony Stark is going through at the beginning of this issue. I may not be a genius millionaire playboy (thankfully), but a few years ago I was in a pretty similar position. In my case the situation ended up changing and I was dissolved of the responsibility. But I know many others who take up the very same challenge day after day and heroically deny their own desires for the pleasures of a normal, everyday life for the sake of the people they serve, like Iron Man but without a transistor-powered super suit.

Yeah I think Iron Man/Tony Stark's life is very difficult. He lives in constant awareness of his mortality, knowing his heart is damaged and his life could end any minute. I do wish he'd just reveal himself as Iron Man, at least to Pep. Speaking of whom, I think she's just about the only non-superhero character in the mix that I like. Happy is as useful as... something not useful. (I've never been good at analogies).

And my second point, already mention above... wtf Stan, did you ever read back what you wrote?

If his master plan was to attack my little ponies or to steal all girl scout cookies, then the Unicorn would be a fine name, a fine name indeed, but really? As an Iron Man villain, really?

I actually really liked Tony Stark's dilemma at the beginning. Would have been a great issue, if not for the godawful villain (and Stan forgetting that he shouldn't know Iron Man is Tony Stark).

It was v.nice to have some character conflict that went further than angsting about unrequited love (that actually ISN'T unrequited).

So much potential for greatness, pissed away by a godawful villain. Everything in this issue EXCEPT the main villain was fantastic.

The Watcher story flat-out sucked.

The parts centering around Tony Stark were good, but parts focusing on Iron Man and the Unicorn? Not so much.

The Unicorn would be a good name for a villain if the dark nature of unicorns in mythology was emphasized. He could be a startlingly handsome man that kills anyone that he finds who he knows has had sex or has any desire to have sex because of a deep discomfort with and hatred for the very concept of procreation. This would mirror the tendency of mythological unicorns to brutally spear anyone they encountered who wasn't a virgin on their horn.

The one thing that made the friend-only female character-hero situation different here, the fact Stark wasn't interested in Pepper, is now gone. Good job, Stan, you're writing the same thing for the billionth time.
