'Nuff Said - "So now, Let's get down to business...How much does the job pay? I figure I'm worth your top salary!"-Spidey

Reed is such a wet blanket in all of these early stories... "any profit we make goes into scientific research!" It's no wonder Sue has the hots for Namor.

Pretty good issue. The main story was great, but the story with the Fantastic Four was just okay and a little cheesy. It was still slightly better than average. And, oh look, the commies were the bad guys again. *rolls eyes*

Pretty cool story on the Chameleon. He was pretty well utilized in the Fox series in the 90's, and in the early 60's as well!

"Peter Palmer" took down The FF and The Chameleon...in one issue! ALRIGHT!

The chameleon is a sh!t villain, but that does not stop it from being great

First Chameleon!!! A nice welcome to a villian that gets build up way into the series.

  • Spider senses! That’s a handy power I'd like to have! Although this version of the senses is a bit too much, because I never thought Spider-Man could tune in on radio waves.

  • The FF were not the friendliest folks in town, all things considered.

  • The Chameleon was a little quick to figure out Spider-Man’s financial situation. Worthy opponent, I must admit. He was way more intelligent than most foes we’ve encountered so far.

  • The Chameleon is the first to join the menagerie of Spidey’s villains with animal names.

Spiderman gives the FF a run for their money ( pun intended) and takes down the Chameleon. One of my favorites.

The expansion of his Spidey-sense is a bit much, but this is the first time it exists at all. Otherwise, a solid story. Yes, the Commies were in it, but it didn't bother me this time; they were just bit players, just the buyers of the stolen goods.

A lot of things the modern Spidey left behind. I like this stuff better than the FF of the Era so far.

Spider-Man is my current favorite. Fantastic Four comes in second. Then Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, and lastly, the solo Torch stories.

How is this not essential? The first appearnce of one of Spidey's most frequent enemies, and the first meeting between Spidey and the FF

I got a kick out of the mistake of "Peter Palmer". If I hadn't known any better, I'd have pawned it off on one of those mis-heard lyric type things.

  bcc Says:

This should also be essential for the first depiction of Peter Palmer's spider sense.

  Murphynator42 Says:

So begins Spidey's eternal battle with animal-fixated criminals. Not fond of him being a Communist this time around, 50 issues in and Stan has already beaten that dead horse into the ground by way of repetition. The issue itself was quite good;3-3 for Spider-man

"Peter Palmer" and "I'm all out of my special fluid", made me laugh very hard.

Spidey couldn't climb the elevator shaft because the elevator was above him and there was no way to get around it yet The Thing did it just a few issues back

This is the first issue that I agree with the "next great issue" statement at the end bcause these are great issues unlike most others

Imitating Spider-Man (or the Fantastic Four, or the Avengers, or...) is like a hobby among the villains. The Chameleon is the first one but there will be more as the title runs along.

I like the FF-Spidey plot but not the Chameleon. We have already seen hero impersonations/mimics and the commie angle and it's old already. A shame there's more to come with Space Phantom in Avengers. Spider's characterization is already miles ahead of most of the Order's superheroes. The excitement level is already the best.
