This Hulk plot has been pointless. How did Tyrannus become so aged? There's a story certainly sure to be more interesting than the one we've been given.

The Mole Man really gets around underground, doesn't he? And what of his fantastic underground monsters? He must have traded them for minions instead.

Bruce is pretty jacked for a scrawny scientist.

And of course, one look at Boomerang's costume and I KNEW those were Retro Boots!

Hulk 81: I remember reading a lot of hate for Boomerang in the comments section of the Subby half of this comic, but really I didn't think he was all that bad. Two things did cause me to ponder, though:
1, his alter-ego seems remarkably similar to many heroes' alter-egos. Wouldn't it be more interesting if Boomerang didn't realise he was working for bad guys, thinking he really is some kind of secret agent fighting for the forces of good?
2, why would Betty know about retro boots? Are they standard military issue? If they're a new tech developed by military, it would be unlikely the general would share that with his daughter? Or perhaps they really are "retro" and Fred and Betty are both fashionable socialites so would know of this retro trend in flying boots???

I nominate the last panel on page 7 as the least necessary expository dialogue of 1966. I don't know who Stan has so little faith in - The artist for being unable to convey that Boomerang is throwing two disks, or the reader, for being unable to understand such a clear image.

Needless exposition aside, I liked this issue, and I like the evolution of the Hulk's condition. I'm also a long time fan of Subterranea, so I could be a bit biased.
