With the Greek/Roman pantheon introduced, I can't help wondering how they work out the contradictions.Do the dead go to Valhalla or Helheim or Hades (or Pluto, I guess). And man, I thought I couldn't hate Odin more. Punishing Loki for a crime he didn't commit yet?

Yeah, Odin, great father. Grieve for the thing you caused. And Thor! Defending him, but then forgetting all about it as soon as he hears about an opportunity for battle?

I've been on hiatus since last ish, so it was a fun reading, and there is this letter from a girl complaining that Jane is even more selfish than Betty Brant. And there is this mysterious girl living with Jane, I only truly hope that they don't cut down the fight in the Netherworld to put this girl's plot on, as they've done time and time again with Thor.

That has the be the best last page of any Thor story. Can't wait for the epic battle that's sure to come.

Tana Nile! Another Thor classic story arc coming up!

Is Tales of Asgard still a prequel? I know it's obviously not happening at the same time as the main storyline, but it's unclear if this all is still taking place prior to Thor going to Earth and becoming Dr. Donald Blake...

Prophecies are so handy -- they provide convenient plot devices with names like "The Day of the Three Worlds" to do nothing other than explain how Thor finds out that Hercules is in trouble, even though Thor was informed of this plot last issue and just walked off.
Meanwhile, Jane has forgotten to uncheck the "Super Creepy Stare" box when placing her Craigslist roommate ad.
Jack practices writing divine messages in fire, one of his favorite god-comic hobbies.
Odin decides the best way to deal with a prophesied traitorous son is to put him in suspended animation forever. Yeah, that'll work out well, haven't you ever read a fairy tale? Oh wait... This was before fairy tales got invented. Still, Odin's obviously just asking for it.

Olympus must hate visitors. If you want to get to Asgard, just take the Rainbow Bridge, or teleport, or take your flying horse.

You want to get to Olympus? Climb a pillar of rock several miles high and be prepared to fight a Titan once you get to the top.

I like how this is way different then the other comics right now, with Asgard and Olympia...pretty decent story. Plus, they just introduced Tana Nile. I'm really excited to learn more about her history.
Tales Of Asgard was decent.

4 stars for a strong, outstanding Thor/Herc story but better mainly for the introduction of the Eye of Sauron in Tales of Asgard. I had no idea that this is how Lord of the Rings truly began.

4 stars for the 1st app of Ares, and Tana Nile!!!

Cover Me - Yet, another King Kirby Klassic!!!

Mortals - Good, thing that cabbie showed up, or Thor might have smite those annoying humans!

Death Comes Callin' - Pluto's Death Mask looks like it has giant Crunch Berries on top!

Roomie - It's good thing that Tana Nile doesn't go all Single White Female on Jane...

Book Of Enchanters - The owners of the book will appear soon...

Fine Print - Pluto said that Herc can't strike back after signing the contract. Even though he beat the crap out of some Netherworld Denizens after signing the contract last issue!!

Title - The Well of Eternal Sleep looks a lot like Ularic's Time Vault from JIM 120!

'Nuff Said - "But hark--the sands of time have run out!"-Hercules

Page 4...just wow...good art. Actually...page 4 of both stories. I think this book has the best art in the order currently.

Both stories I thought were good, 4 stars. This Thor/Herc arc is good!

Odin is such an ass...

I'm loving the Asgard/Olympus crossover. Who would have thought that Thor would become so good at this stage in the Order? I guess they're pulling out all the stops now that he has his own official title. Great artwork, with serviceable inking.

I quite enjoyed the scene with the cabbie too.

Poor Tana Nile... With that flat head, is she Namor's long-list sister? That would explain all the kneeling.

This continues to be an excellent comic overall. I'm looking forward to see what's next for the story, and for more Hercules overall.

I was SO hoping that was going to happen. And it did.

Herc was battling the minions before the verdict of Zeus. Until then, he could have tried to regain the contract. As soon a Zeus saw it, Herc was bound by the ruling.

  • That's my line "Quick! Tear off a piece of his cape... for memento!" "One of his hair! That's all I want... Just one!" (Disrespectful crowd) Welcome back to Midgard, Thor!

  • That's my line too "A costume party... on this floor... and I wasn't invited!" (Jane's disappointed neighbor)

  • I really liked that fun casual scene with the no-nonsense cabbie. Too bad the poor lad did not get paid, but he did offer to help, didn't he?

  • Great giant panel on page 4. I guess Olympus is to Asgard, what Hercules is to Thor: much more fun!!

  • Just as she jumps in the arms of the next immortal she sees, Jane is willing to share an apartment with the first weirdo that comes. No judgment whatsoever!

  • I like how Ares is wearing a mohawk similar to his traditional helmet.

  • Well, the plot towards Thor fighting for Hercules is far from being subtle.

  • I love how Kirby draws horses. They are simply magnificent!

  • Pretty solid issue again, even if the outcome was too obvious. Nice sub-plot with that creepy Tana Nile. I'm looking forward to next issue. 4 stars.
