It was very confusing with the plunderer being so many things.

Boo this comic. Not as bad as last one though.

  Webslinger Says:

Out from Ka-Zar's hidden land with Ape Man, Killer Plant and co. to an espionage and treason thrill, all that with 60's soap opera (1 page) and crazy family back stories! It's just amazing all the connections put together, I just wonder if the espionage thrill won't end in outer space or in another dimension next issue...

  chrys Says:
  2012-12-06 20:27:42
This wasn't as bad... I didn't hate it. But Foggy is an awful friend - his best friend "died" and his first thought is getting the girl.

  Kokixo Says:
  2013-01-13 17:09:46
For this run, Stan has proven he has the plotting ability of a kid with ADD. This story feels like it zapped through all the channels searching for a good course.

  instantdeath999 Says:

Daredevil just randomly losing his powers is ridiculously contrived.

  Robareid Says:
  2013-06-09 02:03:30
I felt I really enjoyed that one more than I should. The plot was terrible, but it was so crazy that it went from terrible one star territory to being to crazy and becoming a bit fun and grabbing a two star rating.

  leisch Says:
  2013-08-06 14:06:49
From the Savage land to a merry old England where the police still investigate "murder most foul". Complete with titled family conflict. Stan has read Tarzan.

  scottyjrules Says:
  2014-05-04 15:21:11
Foggy continues to demonstrate his moral fiber in this issue. Upon hearing that his best friend and business partner is lost at sea, his immediate thought is that if he just bids his time a little longer Karen may possibly consider dating him now that Matt's out of the picture...

  scottyjrules Says:
  2014-05-04 15:43:10
Why did the Plunderer have to drug his crew in order to give Daredevil his mission?

  scottyjrules Says:
  2014-05-04 15:44:38
And if the crew is drugged then why are half of them waiting to ambush Daredevil and Ka-Zar? My head hurts trying to make sense of this plot...

  marvelcomicslover Says:

This story arc is putting me to sleep...at least we got some background on Ka-Zar.

  gloomyharvester Says:
  2014-07-25 15:28:57
So did Zabu ever get out of that pit?

  TheAmazingGatorMan Says:
  2014-08-16 18:15:57
  Ok.... So...

1) Ka-Zar fights a Final Fantasy monster called Marlboro that mysteriously returns Murdock's powers.

2) Daredevil loses his powers with one blow.

3) the Plunderer has super strength because Ka-Zar does? And Stan doesn't explain why they would gave super powers?

4) father takes Kevin but not Plunderer to the jungle? Why??

5) does Ka-Zar have the whole medallion now?

6) Foggy is a creepy douche. Instead of being worried about Matts safety, he thinks that Karen can't mourn forever.... Damn...

  Locust75 Says:

Just 2 stars for plundering the good Plunder name!!!

Cover Me - Great image of Daredevil jumping out of the cover!

Battle Cry - Ka-Zar needs a better catch phrase than the whole "Stronger than..." bravado.

Tick - On page 5, panel 4 it looks like Plunderer is holding a SPOON!!!

Cliché' - Even with all the bad pirate talk; Slagg one-ups everybody with a parrot on his shoulder!

Mixed Up - Plunderer keeps wanting Daredevil to get Ka-Zars half of the medallion for him. Even though he gave Ka-Zar his half earlier!!??

'Nuff Said - "Seizing it carefully, the jungle lord reaches into a pouch...searching for something..."-Narrator

  MattzLadd Says:
  2014-09-20 14:28:06
So...we get rid of this dreadful love triangle - only to have it replaced by Mike Murdock?

  Bramwell Says:
  2014-11-23 01:41:06
Like last issue, this is smoking pile of inconsistent plots and themes, but somehow it still manages to be thoroughly enjoyable. These DD issues may not be great but I don't think they are nearly as bad as others are making them out to be.

  chrisWhite Says:
  2015-01-04 15:32:56
Head due north! From the South Pole. That's helpful Stan. I'll bet it took them exactly five hours to reach England.

  GroovyGolem Says:
  2015-05-02 19:30:10
On the first few pages, I wasn't sure what sort of direction we were about to head in, with Daredevil looking positively coquettish on that bear-skin rug of Pg2/P2, looking over his shoulder at Maa-Gor, as the huge brute starts pawing wantonly at Matt... Plunder indeed!

  skabeaters Says:
  2016-01-17 22:09:32
I've just started watching Daredevil on Netflix. It's a lot better than I thought it would be and way better than Ben Affleck's Daredevil. Also, I can see here why they went with the actors they did, and I think they casted it really well.

  J-Smack Says:
  2016-07-09 02:37:57
Nobody's mentioned it...is this vibranium? At first I was excited, but now I'm doubtful.

  kungfufan Says:
  2016-07-22 23:25:57
GroovyGolem really blew the surprise for yourself checking up on Wikipedia when you only had to wait till next issue... d'oh!

So "Ka-Zar smash!" predates "Hulk smash!"? Or has Hulk said that already and I missed it?

  Russ Says:
  2016-09-06 18:42:51
I agree that was pretty cold of Foggy to think about getting Karen for himself with Matt missing. But it still doesn't compare to the complete d--k move Maj. Talbot did; he put the moves on Betty before Bruce's body got cold (Tales to Astonish #70). Misogyny and testosterone overflowth in the Marvel Universe!

Overall this story was better than I anticipated. Sure it was hard to live up to the past arcs we just read in FF and Spidey, and this DD arc doesn't come close to those, but it's still interesting enough; it doesn't suck.

  Dood12 Says:
  2016-10-15 23:46:57
I was thinking the same thing as J-Smack. It is literally a metal that vibrates. If it's not retconned into being vibranium, I'm disappointed.

  wingot @ chrys (original post):
  2016-10-20 01:17:20
Yeah the whole Karen triangle seems completely forced and over referenced.

  wingot Says:
  2016-10-20 01:35:57
Wait, so daddy dearest, an explorer, finds a land where time stood still and dinosaurs roam and his first thought is "take the shiny object home"? Besides, how did he get it home? A METAL containing boat? Or did he canoe there?

My thought on if it's vibranium was that vibranium ABSORBS energy, not destroys metal. Bit of research later:

"Wakandan Vibranium absorbs vibratory or kinetic energy in its vicinity within itself."

"Antarctic Vibranium has thus far been found in nature only in the isolated region of Antarctica known as the Savage Land. It is also known as Anti-Metal due to its opposite effects to Wakandan Vibranium."

Guess it is.

  • That's my line – " Stronger than mastodon! Stronger than giant boar! Mighty is Ka-Zar! Lord of jungle!" (Ka-Zar) – Rinse and repeat!

  • Somehow, I was suspicious the Plunderer was related to Ka-Zar. But my first thought was that the sole purpose for this adventure was a happy family reunion and I sort of expected the now legendary "I am your father" quote, because the jungle lord looks waaay younger! So much for that!

  • Ironic that it's the guy with the eye-patch who realized first that Daredevil was blind!

  • The drawings Romita made on the pages with Foggy and Karen betray his extensive background in romance comics. You can tell the guy knows how to illustrate drama and emotions.

  • Speaking of Foggy, I'm beginning to like him less each time he appears. Get a grip on your hormones, man!

  • Yes, the plot is going all over the place. But after two exceptional arcs in the Order, the (candy-) bar was high so it's normal to find this one subpar. Now I'm trying to stay objective and go back to my normal expectations for the time. This part was a little better than the first and the intrigue got more complex, with a lot of players in the game. 4 stars because I was adequately entertained and the art was above average.

  JonahBlack Says:
  2017-04-05 11:25:58
Man, Daredevil's radar sense is fragile. What is this, the third time he's temporarily lost it?

I was all ready to give this a very generous 2 stars based on pacing and art...and then the last two pages happened.

No, Feepers, no one expected you were a secret agent, because that plot twist is stupid.

  StrictSnow Says:

  Allencthulhu Says:

"I was content to be Feepers, the humble flunky..." 1)No one is content to be Feepers and 2) being Flunky and Feepers is no way to go through life, son.

  Corlagon Says:

Kirby and/or Romita must have been reading Disney comics. That policeman looks like a human Chief O'Hara.
