Issue Review

A good read. Clever bad guy with a (seemingly) unbeatable plan, and a nice turn of events at the end. My only question: Why did Doctor Doom bother to capture The Fantastic Four at all? Since his plan appears pretty much foolproof. Of course, we'd have no story. And it's easy to explain away his actions as the desire's of ego. Very enjoyable chapter. Looking forward to seeing what Reed's plan is. 9/10

Throw Doom in a FF issue and you instantly get a good one.

Yes, Doom makes this issue great. He's so much better than Blastaar...

Seriously, you end with a panel of one of the heroes saying that they know how to beat the bad guy? Well that kinda sucks all of the tension out of things.
While I've been saying that it's stupid the way everyone (except Medusa) are treating Reed, the jerk award has to go to Sue's friend. Hey snap out of it! Sure your baby is brain dead, but stop feeling sad!
Am I misremembering or is this issue and the last one the first time we've ever seen Medusa without her mask on? She looks very Jean Grey.

I'm really starting to like Medusa. They have been developing her character nicely. Still Hate her "power". Maybe it's just because she is the only not being a jerk.

I've noticed a trend developing recently where all the female charters are in very hot skirts or dresses. And Marvel really does have an obsession with redheads. I wasn't impressed with the Darkoth reveal at he end, but otherwise another strong issue.

Wow, Doom went straight up gangsta and made those two guards shoot each other in the face. Definitely a new era for Marvel.

Doom definitely shines more with the lightened content restrictions. A little bit of violence goes a long way to make a villain more threatening.

Kind of a shame to see Johnny and Wyatt's road trip end so soon though. I'm normally not one for ol' matchstick, but I like the way they play off each other.

  - Buckler is making the most of being on Fantastic Four, this must have ben a dream come true for him

- Wow, he just died (May 19, 2017)

The biggest ego on the planet, DOOM, is back! Only DOOM can circumvent New York City zoning regulations to build an entire city block to his personal specifications, including a ballistic missile depot! How many villains do you know can do that? (Sorry, Reed doesn't count)

So DOOM was also behind Darkoth's attack on the Thing? Doesn't surprise me, but it will lead to a very awkward reunion between him and Reed.

I also agree about Medusa and her character developing in the framework of the team. I think she's best when she's not pushing herself on Reed. Anyone else notice that she has a very protective nature?

4 stars. I'm a little tired of the mind-controlling concept, but DOOM nudges this into 4 star territory with his presence alone!

Let me guess, whatever Doom tells Darkoth is going to lead to the demon siding with the FF.
Called it. Well, unless they pull a switch next issue and it was all an unnecessary trap.
