#14 is just one long battle. And I enjoyed every moment of it. Particularly, whenever The Hulk did anything. I just think it's cool to see him working with a team. 6/10

I'm sorry but Hulk's dialog is really bad in this. I guess Englehart spoiled me and I got used to a stupid Hulk written intelligently. This was a dumb Hulk written stupidly. And Len Wein is going to start writing the Hulk book soon (soon in 1974 time that is)? Ugh

Nighthawk looks really dodgy in the last panel of this comic. Wonder how it'll pan out.

Seems like chauvinistic Sal Buscema didn't bother to put Valkyrie on the cover.

Gee, how could I have guessed that bird nose would have joined the Defenders in the end?

This is actually the second cover in a row where Val was MIA. She doesn't even get her own head ball. Even Silver Surfer got his own head ball and he was only with them a couple of issues.
I liked that the alien actually turned out to be alien, rather than a humanoid like every other alien race so far. Was a pretty cool design as well. Some kind of lizard worm insect octopus.
Subby needs a good smashing from the Hulk.

Ugh with the "we need to work of ether to win" talk and plot over and over again. Art took a dive this issue, and I agree about Hulk's dialogue. Still not a fan of Wein's writing, I guess.

I was going to give this one star, but there were a couple interesting things. One, the gross Nebulon reveal was unexpected and kind of shocking. And two, the roster shake up at the end was fairly significant. I like Namor's reaction to the whole thing at the end.

Hey, who else were they going to offer a spot to on the Defenders? Who else can rock a beak like that? (And I'm realizing how wrong that last question was as I typed it!)

So now we have Nighthawk on the team. As the "Batman" of the Squadron Sinister we can assume he has no actual power set, so it'll be interesting to see what he actually brings to the team. I also think it's funny how this rich guy decides to be a run-of-the-mill-albeit-costumed criminal, since he's already made his money without having to steal it. At least that's what I believe is implied about him.

Nebulon's reveal was one of the weirder ones we've seen in the Order so far. At least now we have an idea of what to expect to see if Squidward works out and takes steroids.

2 stars. Wasn't horrible, but it shouldn't have worked. Especially where it concerns Namor, who would probably love a chance to have the surface world eliminated.

That was fun, mostly for Hyperion trying to gloat over the Defenders being trapped in the globe, and the Whizzer just wanting to kill them already. They did say last issue he's just crazy.
