Good setting for this story, with Bruce and another guy as stowaways on a ship at sea and a compelling mystery also. The quality on this overall story will depend on what exactly the Cobalt Man's plan actually is. Hopefully revealed next issue... 6/10

I wish Roy Thomas wouldn't bring back his old lame villains when he fills in for one of his writers.

This is the wrong way to test the market for an X-Men return.

Nothing like a Hulk on a boat story...

No one is going to give Bruce Banner a shirt?

New and improved armor?! Now it has a bar right in front of your eyes you moron! And why did he turn blue? Because the bomb was in the water? To match his suit?
Why was the brother part of this story? Just to give Banner someone to save like back in issue 1?

Why on earth would somebody name their ship after the most famous ill-fated ship in Western literature?

Also, does Green Skin's Grab-Bag look the slightest bit scrotal to anyone else?

Even the Cobalt Man admits that his name is lame.

What am I missing about the Foooom *No Relation joke? Was Fin Fang Fooms appearance enough to justify this joke?

"Anybody out there remember the Cobalt Man?" No, Roy, we've all been trying to forget!

That said, it actually was a little better than I expected. You just knew that putting the Hulk on a boat was going to be an eventual recipe for disaster! And yeah, @duncanm, I think Ted was used in this story to recreate the scene from the Hulk's origin. Nice touch, but unnecessary.

3 stars. @cdolphy: Actually, I think that sound effect was really a plug for FOOM, as in Friends Of Ol' Marvel, Marvel's sanctioned fan club of the mid 70s. Apparently, that club ultimately landed with a dull thud, too.

Sadly, I do remember the Cobalt Man. What you didn't know was that I really wasn't asking for a reminder.

  Was the story entertaining? Yes.

Did the Hulk get to smash things? Yes.

Did we get some Bruce Banner action? Yes.

Okay. Three stars.
