A long graphic battle, with a lot of narration about the nature of war. Bleak and profound.

Plus: an insanely clever resolution to the murder storyline from a few issues back. 8/10

  "Automatic devastationers"?

This is a good issue in a good arc. The art is also interesting. I like the way Graham uses his panels.

Really good issue. I especially like how both W'Kabi and Taku are changing over the storyline - and I'll never get tired of T'Challa taking out Tayete and Kazibe :D

The moral of this story is spot on. War changes people and never for the better.

Strong stuff. They did a good job of looking at the consequences to the killing of innocence, both literal and figurative, without glorifying or exploiting the violence that leads to it, as most media does.
Have to say though, for an arc called Panther's Rage, T'Challa has been very level headed throughout. Wonder if that will change...

The best chapter of Panther's Rage yet. All the previous issues were limited by the typical hero-vs-villain comic book formula, which doesn't really fit this story on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Macabre and Karnaj were in this issue but had only minor roles, which allowed Taku and Tanzika and everyone else to shine.

First we had Venomm; now we get Karnaj.

Marvel's approach to the remaining pages in this series is strange. Why not let the story use the whole issue?

The story at times did get a little ham-fisted with the message about war, but that doesn't dilute or trivialize the message it was trying to convey. This may have been mostly a fight issue, but I think we saw some turning points in the characters of several supporting players like W'Kabi, Tanzika, and Taku. The two-page spread was excellent, and Taku's moment on page 26 had some surprising power. Very well conveyed.

I'm not sure what Killmonger's recent absence from these pages means, since he's the one still pulling the strings. Maybe it's to send the message that he's just as powerful a figurehead when he doesn't have to be present to cause the carnage we saw here.

4 stars. I was fearing this arc would start to sag in the middle, but this was a major turning point in the battle. I hope it keeps the momentum going.

It's nice to have a story that's not just about the hero beating up the villain. Baron Macabre was the only one the Panther actually touched and that took 3 incredibly quick punches.
