Story 1 - Dark. Even for this series. The elaborate backstory sets up a tales that packs quite a punch. 8/10

Story 2 - Simple, but enjoyable, action-packed conclusion. 6/10

I got to admit, I added a star just for the flames/inferno-zombie art. That was just a quality image.

I wonder what burning, charring zombie flesh smells like...

I thought that the Zombie always healed from whatever injuries he gets? He's been burned before, so is this a new rule?
I was wondering how the religious person could square away her experiment with her loving god, but then I remembered real life...
Since the narrator says that Brother Voodoo has the power to control all fire, this issue should have been over after one page. All the bad guys are carrying torches?!

  Paging Henry McCoy.
Zombie is on a roll now! I wish the 'regular'superhero comics would use page layouts like Marcos does.

Didn't this Zombie just kill another zombie in the last issue by throwing it into a fire pit?

It's probably something like he heals form his injuries, but not immediately. If he is reduced to ash, there's nothing left for him to heal, so he gets destroyed.

I thought this issue was great!

Hmmm. Eric Masterson. Where have I heard this name before? Maybe it'll come to me like a Thunder Strike!

Pretty gruesome story though. I like where this magazine format tends to cross lines you normally wouldn't see in a comic of this era, but that was really pushing the line when the zombie fought that little boy. (Okay, Teddy was really a monster, but c'mon!) Creepy stuff, but I still liked it. And Simon walking out of those flames was awesome! I'm guessing this Amulet of Damballah does a lot more than reanimate a corpse and linking it to whomever holds its mate. It's probably infusing the zombie with a primal instinctive level of intelligence, limited knowledge of its past life, and a degree of invulnerability. Probably necessary for the types of stories we've seen so far.

3 stars. Still want to see more of Mr. Six and Lois though.

That couple and Teddy have been in the Order before, haven't they? I can't remember where, but they seem awfully familiar, and there was no explanation here as to why they had a monster for a son who was locked up in the back yard.
