Issue Review
   March 31, 2016
Case-of-the-week adventure for the Son of Satan. Again, the narrative introduces 'rules' that you just have to accept in order to make the story work, but Daimon Hellstrom is an interesting character and I enjoyed this tale. 6/10

"Why does he frighten me, yet attract me at the same time?"

Are we reading a golden age, Millie the Model-style comic here?

Cool, Black Sabbath next issue! Wait, that probably won't be the Black Sabbath I'm thinking of, will it?

Not sure which is the bottom of the horror barrel, Son of Satan or Brother Voodoo.

Am I the only one who liked this? It did seem like it belonged in the 60's...but still, I really enjoyed it.

I agree that it was fun, though I won't lie, after this long run of the supernatural horror titles, I'll be happy to have some issues of spandex and crazy science.
There's a lot more chick-slapping in the order than I had originally thought.

This was a substantial improvement from the previous SoS issues, but still not great. Hopefully Gerber can fix this title.

It was kind of fun; it had that Atlas-era/Silver Age vibe going through it, yet in a more favorable execution than the cheesy It! stories we had not too long ago. Still, this seems like it was knocked out in a weekend instead of having much thought put into it.

It also seems like Katherine Reynolds was created to be a potential romantic interest for Daimon. I knew she was going to try to enter the haunted hall and complicate things. She may have guts, but she's no Hellcat.

2 stars. And yes, I'm horror'd and monster'd out by now, too.

I wonder how long that milkman was standing there. I actually would have been more interested in the rest of the milkman's day than anything Daimon did.
