Case-of-the-week. Nothing more, nothing less. Only the main character's likeable personality and the location saves if from mediocrity. 6/10

  "Captain Afro-American strikes again!"

Best Luke Cage quote so far!

I think it's Gweneth Paltrow's head in the box.

Crazy villain for sure, but the subplot has me intrigued. And again, so much deaths in that book.

I like how Len Wein has toned done the "jive talk", compared to Englehart. Luke and the other Harlem residents now have dialogue that seems within the realm of realistic. Also, loved the page of informants.

  Good story, lousy villain

The concept behind steel Jack was alright, just the execution sucked.

I think we're still waiting for an issue where Luke wears the same shirt from the first page to the last.
Hope the box isn't a letdown, but I'm glad they're tying up loose ends, like the romance, and the convict thing.

Steeplejack seemed over-powerful for a random construction worker with work equipment strapped to his back.

  - I remember this one from somewhere, I was 2 when it was on the stand but i was definitley in elementary school or before. I wonder if someone had it and I saw it in their pile?

- Luke Cage once again lifts a sub-par comic into "it'll do" range.

- Now Playing "Lullaby for a Steeplejack" Cath Carroll

I liked it. Steeplejack was actually a pretty good villain with logical motivation, and the execution wasn't bad (sorry @TheAmazingGatorMan), but he did seem a little overpowered for a mere construction worker; Luke shouldn't have had all that trouble taking him down unless there was a power boost in the equation. Still, for all his attributes, he's a one-shot villain and not worthwhile enough to see often in any title.

While it was a nice thing that Claire is choosing to stand by her man, I like the direction this book is going. It's an important thing for Luke to clear his name and an excellent move to explore that.

3 stars. Poor Flea; guess he won't be playing bass anymore.

Whatever happened to suing people? Seriously, lawyers must be struggling in the Marvel universe, everyone goes the whole revenge route. Well, defence lawyers are probably doing well.

3 stars for Steeplejack the unknown 5th Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! Seriously, for most of the issue he looked like a Turtle!!!

Cover Me - Steeplejack is missing his gloves on the cover!

On A Budget - I like it that Cage marked out his name and put Power Man on his business card since he couldn't afford new ones!!

Hams - Tuska has Noah and Luke overacting at the end of their discussion...

Ratso - I take it Wichita is a homage to Midnight Cowboy?!

Fizzle - Don't worry true believers, another will claim the mantle of Steeplejack in the future...

'Nuff Said - "Uh-uh, stud--you ain't creamin' me wit' that burnin' glop!"-Swingin' Steeplejack
