Solid adventure yarn. Novel location (icy wilderness) and novel team (Medusa & Human Torch are the only team members).
It's also one of those tales that starts in the middle, then flashes back to the start.
Love the Ross Andru/Joe Sinnott artwork. Those panels of icy desolation. Cool. Literally. 6/10

Yikes! A mirror?! (We must worship them, for we have never seen something reflective! Like, for example, ice. We have never seen ice up here either.)

I would rather have a bad multi issue then the horror of the one shot issues back in the early seventies.

I can understand the mirror with the Yeti people being uncivilized and all. What I couldn't believe, however, was that the newly civilized group mourned the peaceful monk for weeks, but allowed a power hungry warlord to take over with no qualms over their deceased friend. Makes no sense, I tell you!

The master plan is similar to Arnold's in 'Batman and Robin'.

I liked this issue well enough, but super-intelligent monkey-men, and weather control freeze rays? Holy golden age Batman!
I like that after a decade of roughhousing Ben basically showed that he could have killed Johnny at any time.

Why is Ternak blue on the cover? Did the colorist think it was Beast?

How did they learned all this science from a reclusive monk and in such a short time?

I have no idea why but I enjoyed this.

So, we have this monk, a reclusive and religious man, teaching these ape-men enough science and technology to be able to build a contraption that can freeze an entire planet. Okay then!

And Reed wasn't pressuring Medusa to let him go to the Great Refuge with her in regards to this "Project Revival" business. How un-Reed-like of him. The apparent bonding of Medusa and Johnny was a bit refreshing, though, even if talks between them are still a bit awkward. (Cough, Crystal, cough)

3 stars. It's kinda funny that Medusa and Johnny are out in the freezing cold while Reed and Ben are just chillin' back home!
