Plenty of action. But the set up is still so silly, it detracts. Our hero is so calm about turning into a werewolf, he takes no precautions whatsoever. And it makes the series seem dumb. The hit-lady in this story is unintentionally comical, too. But the second werewolf is interesting. 5/10

The way this started, I was primed to give it 1 star. Then, after the reveal, the story picked up and this turned out to be the best wolfie story in a long while.

There's really no sense of time in these comics.

I dunno....I like axe wielding Grannie. She put a smile on my face. The look of her about to murder that cop was priceless.
Are we really supposed to be mystified as to who the black werewolf is? They could always be pulling a bait and switch, but it's pretty obviously the black-magic-black-man from next door.

Finally characters appear that I like. Ma Mayhem made me laugh. She was a delightful character!
Coker is interesting. More than a mindless character. There are just to many of those type of characters at this point in the order.

Werewolf #2 brought this out of the gutter, but it's still not good. Ma Mayhem was the most interesting part of this issue.

Every time this title comes up in the order, the only happiness I have is that there will be one less of these to read when I'm done with it.

Now we have some old lady collecting Social Security who can go toe-to-toe with the werewolf. REALLY? This series is a joke. They really should rename it "The Shaggy D.A. (with Fangs)" because he's no more a threat than an English Sheepdog. I'd give up on this series if Ma Mayhem weren't at least interesting, and I have to admit she stole the show this issue!

And I had a feeling Ray Coker was going to end up as some magical creature or other, if not a werewolf, before long. The two wolves throwing down also helped things, but there's too much crap weighing this series down.

2 stars. I need one of those cleaning ladies around, especially for when solicitors come knocking on my door.

Unfortunately, the best werewolf story in a while still isn't setting the bar high. And good on the cops not noticing Lissa get drugged and kidnapped right in front of them.
