Epic space battle (as part of the Thanos War) with a clever, satisfying resolution. Couple of nice scenes for Vision and Mantis, too. Probably the best characters in the series at this point (both having very interesting sub-plots in the go). 7/10

I appreciated the homage to two Moody Blues songs with the words "Tarmac to the sun again" and "Gathering gloom".

Only Englehart can write a soap opera about an android and make it work. And I'm glad to see heroes crushing their enemies with ease. Too often is the premise where heroes are losing then get the upper-hand in a ridiculous turn of events.

That should have been awesome, but was at best mediocre.

This had done elements the Avengers movie seems to have capitalized on. Outstanding! Now on to the conclusion.

The last panel on page 13 Deep Throat is playing on the marquee. That's the second recent reference to that.

A solid issue. A bit too much explaining of the plot and not enough dialogue for me. Also some strange things happening, like the Vision being able to speak/be heard in space and the wreckage of the battle falling to Earth.

Not a fan of the romance jealousy plot. Never a fan of these kinds of "misunderstandings causing tension" devices, when having a simple conversation would fix the problem but everyone is too stupid to do so, but I get the feeling that they may be using it to turn Swordsman back to the dark side, and I've really warmed up to him.
Destroying the armada by messing up the universal translator was awesome though. I wonder why nobody ever tried that against Star Fleet.

+1 for the strangest love rectangle in comics. And I really like how Englehart, like Gerber, has jumped on board with the Thanos War. Best crossover yet.

Disappointed in this issue. The planet is being attacked by an alien fleet and Swordsman is worried about Vision maybe possibly admiring his girl? And then they find a massive floating ship, which turns out to be the SS Google Translate. Also the Star-Cruiser has to go.

The last panel of page 3 makes Cap look really creepy if the things he's holding is not Lou Ann's shoulder. Stranger Danger!

And "Deep Throat" in page 13's last panel. Marvel's getting saucy!

  - Buscema & Cockrum! Nice splash of attacking spaceships. Simple and dynamic!

-Anther “Deep Throat” reference the movie theatre is being attacked from Deep Space (A combination of Nixon and the surprise beginning to mainstreaming porn made “Deep Throat” a cultural conversation piece, it’s weird and hilarious that they keep slipping it in)

- Also the entire invasion plot fails because no one can make the correct sounds with their throats (ahhh, this would be an academic’s reach as opposed to a boardinghouse reach)

- Now Playing "Deep Throat-Original Mix" Claude VonStroke

They did pack quite a bit into this issue. Things got a touch confusing because of the way the beginning jumped around (explaining Iron Man's presence, then his absence), which messed around with the story's pacing, but was probably necessary.

Regardless, very enjoyable penultimate issue of the Thanos War arc. But I'd have no idea why the Avengers repelling that attack/invasion attempt would destroy Earth. Nor do I get why Thanos is back in his normal body. Tired of godhood already there, big guy?

But yeah, that misunderstanding between Swordsman and Vision just isn't working here. This was so clearly contrived I had to dock it a star.

3 stars. Almost a shame to see the arc ending.

Too bad Thanos didn't read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a handful of babel fish would have saved his armada.

3 stars. Everyone pretty much said everything about this issue. So here is Nick Winters singing "Star Wars"! Take it away Nick...

"Ah.. Star Wars! Nothing but Star Wars! Gimme those Star Wars.. don't let them end! Ah.. Star Wars! If they should bar wars.. please let these Star Wars stay-ay! And, hey! How about that nutty Star Wars bar? Can you forget all those creatures in there? And, hey! Darth Vader in that black and evil mask - did he scare you as much as he scared me-e-e-e? STAR WARS-S-S-S!"

'Nuff Said - "I won't even dignify that with a reply, Avenger."-Vision
