The second half of this a tedious battle. We don't know the villain's goals, so it's just a fight for the sake of fighting after Spidey finds the villain by accident.
His dialogue is repetitive, as he keeps threatening our hero over and over.
Before that there's an interesting development in Peter's personal life when an old character returns.
6/10

Molten Man, Cobalt Man, Megaton Man--what the hell is the difference?

Not another cold! Oh wait, it's not, it's just radiation poisoning...

Radiation can kill you? I thought it just gave you really cool superpowers.

300 degrees F is not remotely molten, Molten Man. You are barely hot enough to make toast.

This was a mediocre issue. The saving grace was the return of Liz Allen and the backstory we should be finding out shortly.

So that museum had rocks from a meteor on display in a glass case, and nobody noticed that it causes radiation poisoning in minutes? I guess nobody goes there.
IMO Molten Man actually turns into one of the more interesting characters in the Spidey-verse in the future, but I agree that these early appearances are pretty generic.
Since when did MJ take over the role of Night Nurse?

Oops. Pretty sure there were two scene ones in act three.

Apparently Molten Man buys his skivvies in the same place as Namor.

Don't know a good reason for what's happening? Radiation is always an option....

Do yourself a favour and skip all narration by this author, it is horrible.

A bland return to Spidey in the order. All the moody comics previous make Romita look a bit square. It was serviceable, but the caption boxes are annoying and kept me from engaging with the story in any way.

Yeah, not quite a return to form for Spidey. Molten Man's body may be "evolving," but in this issue it looks like his main weapon is talking so loud it gave Spidey a migraine!

However, it was nice to see Liz Allan again, who's a nearly-forgotten cast member of the past. I didn't realize that she and Mary Jane had a history, though; maybe it was MJ's cameo back in issue #25 before we properly saw her that the issue alluded to.

3 stars. Not up to the quality I expect from Spider-Man but still better than a lot of the rest of the Order I've recently read.

Conway is particularly obnoxious in this one.
