Not much happens, but what does happen is powerful.
We start with some adorable MJ/Peter banter. Such a great couple.
One bomb explosion later and Spidey is battling his former best friend.
There's really nothing else, but this is dark and heavy stuff.
10/10

Man, it's crazy all the different things that spiders can detect with their spider sense. In this issue, it can detect booby trapped doors. Someone should really harness that somehow and use them to detect mines and stuff.

Apparently Peter Parker has a hammer since the cartridge bulge won't be too noticeable.

We really needed to see much more of Harry between #121 and this issue. A big missed opportunity.

I wouldn't call it a missed opportunity, now that the cat's out of the bag you don't want it to be over too quickly, so I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of flashbacks to fill things out. I personally loved how they meted out Harry's subtle descent into crazytown in small doses.
So...apparently Peter and MJ are dating now? Wonder when it changed from just "Helping out a friend in need"?

Fun to see Harry be/become as loco as his father

How spider-man deduced that the explosion was caused by the green goblin ?

  Pretty great cover

Every scene after 5:2 I kept thinking about Peter Parkerís unoticable pants bulge

Itís a bummer we are stuck with someone as bland as Ross Andru, het is serviceable but nothing really kicks the story into high gear

Fake dust, real dumb

I still donít understand how The Green Goblin can stay standing after a few Spidey Strength punch, especially after Peter stops holding back (sorry, if iím treading into Well. Actually territory)

I do like the Goblin close-ups. He seems creepy, scary, and crazed.

Runs out of power at just this moment? This issue is a real push & pull. Overtime I start to like it, and just get into the flow, something happens to irk me. Maybe Iím easily irked this morning

Is it weird to say that Harry makes the better Green Goblin than his dad did?

Not too many people remember that Norman was in it for the money at the beginning. Sure, he was crazy, and the continued defeats at the hands of Spider-Man (or, "accidents" as he once called them) gradually made him want to target the wall-crawler, culminating in the plan where he learned his secret identity. We all know the rest from there.

But Harry is really off his rocker here. He's purely about vengeance, his drug addictions warping his perceptions even more than the goblin serum alone (@dadoodoflow: which I'm assuming he took at some point to even be able to stand toe-to-toe with Spidey), and probably losing Mary Jane to Peter was the last straw. And Harry as the Goblin looks even more psychotic to me than his father ever was. Ross Andru captured that look perfectly.

Yet, I don't think Harry's ready to kill Peter/Spidey just yet. Yep, that finger blaster running out of power at a critical moment? Bet'cha that was no accident!

This story wasn't quite as riveting as it could be, but it's the setup for next issue which could see things really ramp up. I think by having Spidey sack out at the Goblin's hideout might've inadvertently taken some tension out of the story.

4 stars. You'd think the son taking up in his father's footsteps was an overused trope that would spell disaster in the hands of Gerry Conway, as erratic a writer and plotter as he's been. But it was executed surprisingly brilliant here. This one just missed being a 5-star.

I didn't like this as much as I had hoped. Harry seems a bit too much the Green Goblin, there isn't enough difference between him and his dad for me. What I wanted was a character that I knew (albeit about a year ago, they've hardly touched him since) who had gone off the deep end, this felt a bit too much that they'd just picked up the old Goblin and continued with him where they'd left off.

Good one but I don't think you need to detect mimes. The white make-up and the black leotards are usually a giveaway.

This is one of those things like in the Defenders versus Evil Mutants story where anyone could do anything to further the plot.
