Ordinary team-is-divided-and-each-faces-personal-demons tale. At least Son of Satan is in it. 5/10

  Average.

I think they discovered Hellstrom's success... He's, at best, a character who succeeds at being a guest star. This was a good issue.

Why do they keep insisting Namor is part of the Defenders? When is the last time he has been with them?

Yeah keeping Namor on the Defenders' trademark is getting silly at this point. Especially since the last time he saw them he hated them.
As for this issue though, I thought it was really good. Gave us a good look into the psychology of these characters, as nothing defines a person so much as their fears. I especially found Val's interesting, as she's been saying she's going to leave to look into the history of the woman who's body she inhabits as she feels she owes it to her (she's actually been saying she's leaving for a long time now), when we see here that the truth is that she is afraid that she has no true identity of her own.
Nighthawk's not really my cup of tea, but he was actually decent in this too.

Unclear on the Hulk rock and not smoke analogy.

Officer Simile there on the second page

Gil Kane and Klaus Janson are a good team, there are some weird poses and faces though

Lots of Stairs Little Girl sounds like a terrible/awesome toy doll idea

I would love it if Dr. Strange ineptly tried out new slang and contemporary idiomatic speech in every issue

“Gone Gone O Form of Man…oops, I mean….um... Leave Leave this shape I straighten and rise the Son of Satan!” Ta-Da!

Oh look, The Defenders found 12 Grimmauld Place

I hope they develop an enemy for Satanish called Christish

Wish this was better, just average

I agree this was pretty okay, but it felt a lot like something I've read before, and not in a good way. Plus, it did leave a few things unexplained, like the Banners turning to rock instead of smoke. It was a bit of a surprise to see Asmodeus again, but these guys need to learn not to make bargains with demons; they get screwed every time. Every. Time.

The one bright spot here was Daimon Hellstrom. I'm still not sold on his solo series but he did seem to work well in the Defenders. I think this is where his niche is. Maybe he can replace Valkyrie who keeps threatening to the leave the group. Hey Val, if you're going to leave, just leave! The team will miss you, but they'll figure things out.

3 stars. The Hulk will probably be suspicious of little girls after this little episode.

If only Asmodeus hadn't been so overconfident. He could have just grabbed random souls rather than trying to take on the Defenders.
