This is actually okay. While Zabu is still more interesting, Ka-Zar isn't his usual dull self here. He's actually written as a credible hero-type, brooding and proactive. It seems that he's up against a virus/disease of some type, setting out on a quest to find a cure. It's predictable, but competent and entertaining. Some bland supporting characters in a plane appear briefly and are used to give us a look at Ka-Zar's origin story. This, too, is enjoyable. 6/10

For some reason, I feel Ka-Zar adventures are more interesting in black and white.

Nice recap of Ka-zar's origin. Even though they are black and white, I quite enjoy the art of the Curtis mags.

Love this story, the black and white Ka-Zar mags seem to hate better stories and art.

I feel Ka-Zar adventures are more interesting when there are more heroes than just him. I do find the Tarzan shtick tiresome.
That woman really should have stayed home though since she's hours or even just minutes away from getting dibilitatingly sick in the middle of the jungle.

I really liked this one. Very semi-realistic story, with Ka-Zar unknowingly bringing an adversary to the Savage Land. It does surprise me a little that the village wasn't kicking Ka-Zar out for bringing them that plague, or even trying to kill him out of vengeance. Still, this is one of the best Ka-Zar stories I've read in awhile.

4 stars. Rhyla's a bit on the feisty side. It was predictable that she was going to follow Ka-Zar to that mountain, but I liked her modest trash talk to him. Wonder if there's a catfight between her and Shanna sometime in the near future.

For savages, they have a surprising knowledge of immunology.
