The more one reads of this series, the more one appreciates how fearless and badass Zabu is. He attacks a friggin' tyrannosaurus rex in this one! In the main story, we see Ka-Zar doing his thing: being gruff, moody and capable in a fight. This is one of those hidden civilization tales. And it plays out in expected manner. Before long there's a trial-by-combat scene for our hero. You know how that will end. And events set in motion earlier end up destroying the secret city as the good guys escape. The most peculiar aspect of the comic is the presence of a small group of outsiders. They don't impact on the main story at all and seemingly exist for a small character scene at the very end where Ka-Zar can once again turn his back on the modern world. Fine. But why create more than one character for that? A lone outsider could have accomplished the same thing. Odd. 6/10

The second story was brutal. Ka-Zar is the only character at this point which is allowed to kill and not have remorse about it.

First story was a good end to the story started last issue. SPOILER: The panel of the prince getting an arrow to the throat was great. Second story was brutal as the others said, but the story left little to be desired.

Couldn't really get behind this one. Ka-Zar was just too much of a jerk. Considering he's always going back and forth to civilization chances are that he's the one to blame for making everyone sick.
What was up with the first two pages being a reprint of the last two pages from the previous issue? Kind of goes against the "All New" promise on the cover.

Ka-Zar is winning in the superhero vs animal battles I think.

Wow. I think the black and white stories here without CCA interference are producing the best Ka-Zar stories. His character is living up to the potential this format presents, and this story was one of the most violent I've seen of him. It was a pretty spectacular yarn to an otherwise mundane plot. I was also a little surprised that Rhyla mostly pulled her weight in battle. Sure she was captured, but so was Ka-Zar and Zabu. But whoa, that was some pretty good country shootin' with her bow and arrow. Sure ruined that prince's day.

@duncanm: Ka-Zar did take the blame for the plague in the previous issue (pg 14 pn 5-6). However, the one flaw was that party from the plane also being blamed for the plague, yet that village had been fighting that sickness for days; the outsiders had only just arrived and were only present within that hidden city.

4 stars. Ol' T-Rex joins the party even with a huge tree trunk in its heart. That's pretty bada$$.

Ka-Zar goes nuts against the outsiders for bringing disease, then Ka-Zar leads a T Rex to a city that it destroys.
Hypocrite.
