The Thing & Captain America in 3014 AD!
Another time travel story! Popular topic for Marvel Comics in 1974, it seems.
It’s really an issue split in two-halves. First, we get some advancement in the Wundarr The Aquarian storyline. Then (using a very goofy engine to set the new story in motion) Sharon Carter joins our heroes in the far future. There’s something very Lost in Space about everyone’s blasé attitude to time-travel (even accidental time travel) but there’s no denying this is a fun read.
6/10

The Marvel universe has made some progress since the early Silver Age, but the Thing remains as sexist as they were back then.

Of course, Medusa and Sharon get the coffee...they are only a highly trained field agent and royalty. Medusa should have brought the coffee in, then poured it on all three of the guys heads simultaneously. And then, Sharon takes them all out with her suitcase flamethrower from Captain America 100.

I like how Ben has been inviting the heroes he encounters over to the Baxter Building to shoot the breeze.

This was a fun read, but I didn't think the GotG were from that far in the future. I guess I'll just had to wait until they really make their first appearance.

The Guardians already made their first appearance a while ago in a one-shot. My question is how does Reed know that the time traveler comes from 3014? The time machine had only taken them to the past before and Reed's still testing it out.
Interesting to see Wundarr being pawned off on Namorita. I'm wondering if there is a plan for this or if they just couldn't figure out what to do with him so they got rid of him for a while.
So glad to be back to superheroes.

Phew, back to real characters. Bonus star for that!

Not sure, but it's seems that they're just punting on the Wundarr subplot by VERY causally tossing him over to Namorita.

Grumpy Unca Ben-Jee on the opening splash is a hoot!

Ben demanding Medusa make the coffee he offered is in character but still pretty crappy

Oh look, the queen and highly trained secret agent are serving

Gerber is pretty consistent in his attempts at making super hero battles less romantic (the antennae in NY, having to break their bones, the death toll in Man-Thing)

Continues a pretty decent run on this comic, if you had asked me before reading the order which was the better comic this or Marvel Team-Up I’d have chosen the latter

Benjy and Cap havin' Zom fun bashing heads in the future! Granted, they don't have much of a personal stake in what happens several centuries from now (speaking of which, where is that busybody Kang anyway?), but we do get to see the Guardians, the first time since that one-shot waaaaay back in Marvel Super-Heroes #18.

I wouldn't have minded Medusa and Sharon serving the coffee, just being nice, if it weren't for Ben's insistence a couple of panels beforehand. It wasn't as bad a case of misogyny than we've seen before, but still....

Finally, I think Wundarr being pawned off on Namorita might've been a setup for a possible series that didn't get green-lighted back then. Wundarr wouldn't have worked in Two-in-One long term anyway. Ben having to babysit him issue after issue just would've gotten stale after awhile. Although, Wundarr's child-like talk here was kind of amusing, if not very dignified.

3 stars. Two-in-One is still off to a highly respectable start.

Tarin had one facial expression throughout that entire issue, and it was worry verging on panic. Kind of makes her last couple of lines seem a bit silly.

This was a nice batch of Gerber nonsense. If anything, he's the Dadist of the mainstream comics (as much as an oxymoron as possible for that).

It's nice to see Wundarr again. TiO #2 isn't currently (12/26/17) available in MU so I missed it but I did read his first appearance in Man-Thing.

The future setting and the Badoon are pretty cool. (Were they the conqueror's of Earth in the GotG one-shot?) Later, they are known as the people who wiped Gamora's folk from the universe.

Three stars.
