Action-packed put-your-brain-in-neutral-tale that finds The Thing, Captain America, Sharon Carter and The Guardians of the Galaxy accomplishing a hell of a lot in a few short hours! Second-last page is a good splash-page of the battle, showing all the characters in action. 6/10

Cool concept, but it felt a bit too rushed.

Good to see the Guardians of the Galaxy again after about a thousand issues.. I quite like the premise of those guys.

Finally, the guest in the previous issue is kept in the action instead of sidelined by a lame plot point. Letters page says Thor next issue, end burb says Dr Strange.

The ship of the Guardians seems the Enterprise.

PETA must have rioted over the last two issues. Lions and bears being beaten cars being thrown at baboons by Ben.

A pretty standard "future/micro/parallel Earth is being oppressed by evil tyrants" story, but well done and fun, with the Guardians making their long awaited return. You have to wonder how many readers at the time would have had a clue who they were.
I also liked that Cap and Thing didn't actually save humanity, but rather helped win one battle that they're hoping will be the spark to lead to a greater resistance fight. It's more believable and it leaves something for the GoG to do when we come back to them.
I liked the plot device of summarizing the last issue by torturing Cap. It's at least something different from the usual.

They use Vance Astro’s origin for a different character in Bill Mantlo’s Micronauts

This was wonderfully condensed - sure fit a lot in such a small space

Well, maybe we didn't get to see some guy listening to old school 1970s pop on an old Walkman. We also didn't get to see some masked rodent named loosely after a Beatles tune. Nor did we get some plant-like creature constantly telling us who he is. But this was a fun little romp, and another despotic ruler gets the boot from Earth thanks to the Marvel Propaganda Machine.

Maybe they didn't free Earth entirely, but the group did more than win the first battle; they basically took out the head of the operation, so all other establishments of Badoon power should fall by the wayside. Theoretically, at least. The Guardians should be able to lead the trash cleanup well enough, as long as nobody calls for reinforcements!

3 stars. All in all, some good fun, and no Marvel Liberation is complete without a little cheese from Captain America at the end!

That's all well and good telling me that people died on both sides, but let the artist know too. The entire fight was just Badoon going down.
