Very enjoyable slugfest issue. Both characters come off very well, and the ending is good. 8/10

I'm surprised at how much I like Frankenstein right now. It might be Gary Friedrich. It might be because it's not Gerry Conway. Still, some things in this issue bugged me. First, Dracula could enter houses where he wasn't invited (as in Tomb of Dracula). Second, and there is place for further explanations, his skeleton was left at the top of a mountain although he was revived in his castle.

Not as great as I expected, but the issue was still pretty good.

So Dracula ultimately dies at the hands of Frankensteins Monster and not Drake?

I just see this as a mix of Silver Surfer and the Hulk, and I feel like we've seen this story before. Humanity is afraid of gentle misunderstood being that looks down on them for being overly violent. At the least provocation they lash out at everything around them. Rinse, repeat.

I hope Frank, Rachel and the rest of them were taking notes; the Monster made it look easy to take down Dracula! It's gonna be hard reading Drac's mag because of this story; it just confirmed what we all already knew about Tomb of Dracula. It'll be painful seeing them trip over their own toes trying to do what one guy just did here.

And, nice touch what Carmen tried to do to the Monster. She inadvertently did us a favor; that's one character who won't talk our heads off! Except he probably has some miraculous healing powers; we never saw any burn injuries on him after that mob tried to burn him at the stake.

3 stars; not great, but much better than I thought it would be.

Good Lord, this is handled so much better than Tomb of Dracula or Werewolf by Night. Good pacing, efficient language, and real consequences; I wish Marv Wolfman was reading and taking notes.

Don't try and make out that the monster is actually a nice guy now because he's trying to take out Dracula. He's killed way more people in that village than Dracula has, what with dropping a boulder on them then going on a rampage.
