Issue Review

Despite a long, pointless retelling of the previous issue’s events, this works really well. Mostly because of the lead character and his predicament. Difficult not to feel something for him, and his horrible plight. 8/10

Isn't that what they have been doing for some time now? Especially noticeable after the Black Panther centric issues.

  Much better than I expected.

It was good, but I'll withhold judgment for a few issues. Most of the horror titles started out good, but fizzled later on.

I like the twist on the tale. Rather than a mindless monster he's fully cognizant man that has no clue he's a mummy. Definitely opens up some interesting possibilities, but I agree with the GatorMan, I'm not getting my hopes up yet.
And what's up with those cops? For all they know he could have been a guy on his way to a costume part! They must have known he was black...

Does the Mummy heal or are the holes from the bullets permanent?

Better than most of the recent new horror titles, likely due to Gerber.

Decent enough opener, but I still sense a limited palette of story possibilities with this series. Then again, the satiric mind of Steve Gerber can make this more interesting. It's worth sticking around to find out.

3 stars.
