1st story - Definitely feels like an ending is close.
The death of a major character occurs, and is very sad.
Then we have a very fast resolution to a dangling story thread. Too fast to fully convince, but still enjoyable. 8/10

2nd story - Again, the pieces fall into place too easily but itís still a good comic. The air of melancholy and regret that underscores everything makes it work. Just. 8/10

3rd story - Good ending to a good series. Closure, and an emotional power. Definitely not where I thought this series was going. 9/10

I have to say they ended Simon Garth's run quite neatly, and all in all I enjoyed parts of the whole run a lot - and others were at least decent.

Bye bye now, mr. Zombie!

  That was awesome.

It is so incredibly rare, to see a comic all wrapped up and concluded with a sense of closure. Nicely done.

Steve Gerber looked like he didn't know what to do with the character, but his replacements sure found a way to conclude this saga with some fireworks!

Great windup for a feature that had been mostly botched since the beginning. First I've enjoyed since the origin issue.

Great conclusion, but he never signed the paperwork to give away his coffee empire. Poor beast... I mean troll kid.

This was great. I never thought they would go in this direction, but it worked very well.

A very satisfying conclusion to this Zombie's tale. A little bit rushed at the end, but I guess that was necessary. I think this is the first of the horror titles I've rated over 3 stars, and I would not have guessed that a few issues back.
Next comic in the order is Tales of the Zombie 10, but Mr Garth isn't a part of it. Very curious to see what that means.

Very nice wrap-up for the Simon Garth saga. I would've taken more visual on his transformation back to a zombie (it seems to happen very quickly, literaly behind closed doors), but still, very enjoyable.

Ended on a high note. A genuinely satisfying ending. I wonder why this ended in one issue without Gerber.

I was quite surprised at the closure this story offered. 24 hours wasn't a lot of time, but Simon sure got a lot done (except possibly signing those papers like @TheAmazingGatorMan pointed out). Hey, the guy can catch up on his sleep now, right?

Some other notes.....

Gives the word "stiff" a whole new meaning: I bet Simon wished he had a couple more hours so he and Miranda could get it on!

Papa Doc: Is Layla's grandfather really Francois Duvalier in hiding when the world thought he was dead?

But the real question is, who got the toaster?: I found it interesting that Simon ended up with custody of Donna when he and Miranda got divorced. Did Miranda put Simon in the hospital when she punched him or something?

Heck with it. 5 stars, and an A- for the series. This is how to close out a series the right way, and they did it before it got bogged down with subpar stories. Sure, this was your typical redemption story, and we all knew what was going to happen by the end, but I still had developed an emotional investment in the characters, especially Simon, before it was all said and done. Excellent job, Tony.

The redemption story here only worked because of the stories that went before it because they spent so much of them pointing out how there wasn't that much difference between living and zombie Simon. I loved seeing that all culminate here. I don't know when 36 pages last flew by so easily.

A great ending. Very surprised it ended so well with the change of creative teams. Loved the art all the way throughout.
