#180 is split between the villains and their plans, and an unusual/rewarding Steve Rogers tale.

Meanwhile, Madame Hydra goes from a very sexy costume to one thatís kinda blah.

6/10

Excellent issue! Love the dialong "won't that cause confusion in the marketplace?", and the synchronicity of Captain America on the screen as Nomad first goes into action. Little things like this gives the book a realistic feel that was unheard of in comics up til that point.

Pahaha, he tripped over his cape! This issue was pretty entertaining. I also love how supervillains get to keep their costumes on in police custody.

The costume is pretty lame, though. Not sure how long this Nomad thing lasts, but I'm hoping it's not too long.

Extra star for tripping on his cape!

  Viper: "I fight for nihilism!"

Um...

The costume looks better on the cover; actually it reminds me of Nightman. I gave it an extra star half for Cap tripping on his cape and the other half for making the batman allusion while picking a name.

Did Captain America just change identities so he could have the "Deep V" like The Falcon?

I've always wanted to see a hero trip on their cape!

  Daredevil Says:

"Look Cap, I'm not sure it's always a good idea to design your own costume. I mean, look at my first attempt!"
"Hmmm I see what you mean, but don't you think it looks good DD"
"Well I'm not really the person to ask. I'm... err... a little colour blind. I'd get rid of the cape though, if I were you"
"No, I like the cape. I mean, what's the worst that could happen!"

I love that they make the cape look like an obvious bad choice, yet half of the Avengers wear them without hurting themselves.
I didn't see the surprise villain coming at the end, though it was probably because he is in no way serpent related. What's that? He has a snake hat? Oh, well then let him on in!
One thing I don't understand is why Nomad isn't using a shield. It is so ingrained in his fighting style that if he didn't have it he would use a garbage can lid or whatever else was handy.
I think Nomad's plunging neckline was just to try to one-up the Viper.

I really like Englehart's run, but Sal's art is the low end of the bullpen, which is a shame.

I went from thinking, "Aw, man, Viper is going to be the villain of this issue?" to "Hey, cool! Viper is going to be the villain of this issue!"

Fighting for nihilism must be exhausting.

A part cut from the story, only just now seeing the light of day....

Steve making a phone call: "Oh, hey Al, this is Steve. Is Bruce in? Sure, I'll hold.......hey Bruce? Steve. That cape idea you gave me for my new costume? That was a no go, man. I tripped over it in battle......I'm a what?....what do you mean I need to be more careful? That cape was a rotten idea! I don't know how you managed to do it all these years without tripping, but.....I tell you, if a bat flew in through my window, I would've strangled it and pretended that was your neck!...Same to you, buddy!" Slams down the phone "Moron! No wonder his TV show got cancelled!"

Excellent issue overall. But Steve shouldn't get too upset with Sharon; after all, wasn't he trying to get her to retire awhile back?

4 stars. Princess Phython's appearances are kinda muddled here. Wasn't she just captured in New York? (Daredevil #118)
