Another great Steve Gerber story: Unique, fascinating, thought-provoking. The first scene alone is so mesmerizing that even if the rest of the issue disappointed I'd have rated it at least an 8. It really is a cool comic. Can't wait for the next chapter. And Valkyrie (always one of my fave Marvel characters). 9/10

Two in one is so much better than Marvel Team up. they need to step up their game.

This was another issue that I found very enjoyable while making no sense. If that harmonica is so dangerous then why is the fate girl playing it in a dangerous part of town in the middle of the night? And why does seeing her burst into sparkles give these people the "destinies" of being eaten by a giant rat and having their face removed? (Side note, how the heck did he scream when that happened?)
And that was a cool way that Strange helped the first guy, stopping time to give himself the ability to figure out how to help fix the situation. You'd think that he would use that trick more often, like say, when a young woman is about to be hit by a train?

There were some typos at the end: "Clestia" and "Wrong."

  +1 star for Thing's "flamin' saltines" line...I lol'd a little bit.

This story read like another case of illicit substances being smoked in the bullpen at the time this issue was produced. Weird even by Steven Gerber standards. Still pretty cool, and Gerber did the Thing's dialog well, but man it was just out there.

I have to wonder why that destiny girl was on Earth in the first place, let alone around a subway in the seedier part of town. Doc and Clea in their fancy clothes stick out like a sore thumb anyway, even out of costume! And it mystified me that Doc went for the harmonica instead of saving the girl. At first that little act was ruining the story for me. I'll reserve judgment on the rest of the arc until it's done.

3 stars. Pretty intriguing start nonetheless. It'll be interesting to see how Valkyrie fits into this since she's supposedly in Vermont (Defenders #18).
