Steve Gerber's stories sure are 'out there'. Imaginative, to say the least. This one is a blast. And there are several moments for The Thing that made me smile. 9/10

So, um, I just read a comic where The Thing saves the world with a supernatural harmonica. And it was a beautiful story. Comics are awesome.

The Valkyrie's situation is quite an interesting one. Looking forward to seeing how it panned out over the years.

Love the character development and effort going into Valkyrie now.

Was a good issue, but it didn't really feel like a two-in-one with Val, since she's in like ten panels of the entire book, and maybe half of those she's actually doing/saying anything.
I like that the 2in1 series actually moves the story forward on the ongoing saga that the guests are dealing with, rather than just skating on the novelty of the team-ups like that other mag.
Ben being with the Defenders next issue should be interesting, as it always is when he and Hulk are near each other.

Uhmm, wow. It ended up much better than I expected. I'm still not sure how or why Destiny's Child (that girl from last issue) or her harmonica was doing on Earth, but I really liked the way Valkyrie's and Barbara's backstory is developing. This is a great setup to her story starting in Defenders #20.

But any threat to the world the harmonica proposed couldn't have been too bad, if Ben found the time to run the Fantasti-Car through a car wash to clean all that graffiti off, on the way to Vermont!

3 stars. Enchantress and Executioner seemed kind of superfluous here. Then again, they've always seemed ineffective in their past appearances!
